The roleWe sell to CFOs, VPs of Finance, and controllers - one of the most skeptical, technically fluent buying audiences in software. Winning their trust takes marketing that actually understands how the office of the CFO runs: revenue recognition, cash operations, the close, consolidation, and what "audit-ready" really demands.
You'll be our founding product marketer, reporting to our Head of Marketing and working closely with the founders and our in-house accounting experts. You'll own two things end to end:
- Customer-facing product marketing. The positioning and messaging our buyers actually touch - product narratives, launches, sales materials, competitive content, customer stories. You're the voice of the buyer inside the company and the voice of the product outside it.
- The content roadmap. Strategy, editorial calendar, and quality bar - executed through a stable of contractors you recruit and manage. You're the editor-in-chief; you don't have to personally write every word, but everything ships through you.
What you'll do- Own the customer-facing layer of positioning and messaging: figure out how the same module gets described differently to a tech buyer versus a CPG buyer, then pressure-test that story in real conversations with finance leaders.
- Run market and buyer research: personas, buyer journey, and competitive and category intelligence that feed both our messaging and the product roadmap.
- Run product launches end-to-end: narrative, assets, enablement, distribution.
- Build the content engine from zero: editorial roadmap, contractor sourcing and management, briefs, editing, publishing cadence.
- Amplify our accounting experts and founders: sit with the practitioners on our team, pull out what they know, and turn it into content the profession respects - so every piece carries real credibility, not generic AI-generated takes.
- Own competitive: comparison pages, battlecards, win/loss learnings fed back into messaging.
- Clarify how we talk about pricing and packaging: we charge for outcomes, not seats, and the pricing model itself is already in motion internally. Your job is to pressure-test the naming and the story so it's crisp when it reaches a buyer, not to build the model from scratch.
- Turn customer results into proof: case studies with hard numbers.
- Build our review-site presence: partner with our customer-facing team to get happy customers onto G2 and peers, and put those reviews to work in the funnel.
- Own sales enablement so every deal conversation reflects the sharpest version of our story.
You might be a great fit if- You have roughly 5-7 years in B2B SaaS marketing with real product marketing ownership - positioning, launches, and enablement you can walk us through and defend.
- You're an exceptional writer and a sharper editor - you can take a contractor's B-minus draft or an accountant's brain-dump and ship an A+.
- You've built from the ground up - a founding/first-marketer role, a new function, or a 01 product line - and you want complete ownership, not a lane.
- You can sit with a CPA for an hour and come out with something the profession would actually read. You find technical domains energizing, not intimidating.
- You manage yourself: at seed stage there's no playbook, no brief, and no one to escalate to.
- You're in New York and excited to build in person, five days a week.
A big plus (tell us if this is you)Our product is deeply technical accounting and finance. Product marketing craft comes first - but direct domain experience is highly preferred and will set your application apart:
- You're a CPA, or spent time in audit, controllership, or FP&A before moving into marketing.
- You've done product marketing or content for accounting or finance software, or for the fintech stack around the CFO.
- You've sold to or marketed to finance leaders and can speak their language on day one.
