Full Job Description
The OpportunityAs Reducto's Founding Data Engineer, you'll build our data infrastructure from the ground up. You'll own the entire data stack, from the systems data lives in, to the pipelines that move it. You'll make the foundational architecture decisions for how our data capability evolves.
You'll turn that foundation into a trusted source of truth the whole company runs on, answering the questions that actually move the business, from usage and unit economics to our growth funnel. This is a rare chance to own data end to end at a fast-growing company, and to define the function that grows around you.
What You'll Do:
Own our core data systems (including Snowflake, Postgres, Clickhouse, and various data lakes), orchestration, transformation, and set the direction for how the stack evolves.
Build and own the pipelines that unify product usage, sales, and finance data across APIs, webhooks, and third-party systems.
Model raw data into clean, documented tables the whole company can query with confidence.
Own the reliability of our data and set the standards for it, from tests, freshness checks, and lineage to clear ownership of what "correct" means, so trust in the data holds as we scale.
Partner with Eng on usage data, and with Finance, Ops, and GTM on the metrics behind the business.
Use AI to build faster, and keep the foundation clean enough for AI tooling to run reliably on top of it.
You'll Thrive Here If You:
Hold a high bar for quality and precision, and build from first principles.
Have 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with strong command of SQL, Python, and dbt, and experience with a cloud warehouse like Snowflake.
Have built and owned data pipelines in production, end to end.
Think in systems. You design for where the company is going and can build foundations that will hold up as we scale.
Can work directly with functional leaders by turning vague requests into clear deliverables, explaining how the data works, and negotiating priorities and tradeoffs.
Are comfortable as the only data hire, balancing foundational architecture against urgent business needs.
Bonus points if you:
Have been the first or founding data hire somewhere before.
Know usage-based pricing, consumption models, or PLG-plus-sales-assisted funnels firsthand.
Have hands-on experience with modern ETL and orchestration tools like Fivetran, Dagster, or Airflow
Are deeply AI-forward. You reach for AI to build faster and are always pushing the edge of what it can do.
Enjoy analytics and answering business questions.
Have experience at an early-stage or high-growth startup.

Benefits
Unlimited PTO, because great work requires recharging.
Daily Lunch, enjoy free lunch with teammates in the office.
Commuter Reimbursement, we'll cover your transportation costs.
Comprehensive Insurance, medical, dental, and vision.
Health and Wellness Budget, up to $150 per month for wellness spending such as gym memberships or fitness classes.
