About the RoleWe'll be launching the product soon. This is our first dedicated accounting hire, and it's a wear-all-the-hats role: part customer service, part AI quality control, part process building, part product research. You report directly to the founder.
Our customers trust Synthetic with their money, and our system changes constantly. Your job is to make sure nothing breaks or falls through the cracks for them while we move fast. Sometimes a system is working properly but poorly explained, and you bridge the gap with the customer until we fix it. And sometimes there's a process we haven't automated yet, like customer onboarding today, and you handle it by hand until it makes sense for an engineer to build it. You'll also be building business processes for customer support on the fly.
This job will change every quarter. One perk: you'll never do a bank reconciliation. That part is already completely autonomous.
Job Requirements- A CPA.
- Controller experience at a software company. You've run real SaaS books.
- Fluency in ASC 606, billing, invoicing, and accrual bookkeeping for software businesses.
- Clients love you.
- You've vibe coded a few things you're happy to show off.
Compensation- $250K - $275K salary
