Role OverviewA Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) (Or Staff Integration Engineer) embeds directly with clients to deploy, customize, and troubleshoot our platform in their environment - the engineer who shows up when a bank is going live on our platform and things need to actually work, live, in front of that client. You'll spend approximately 15-25% of your time client-facing on average across a year, with bursts to 40-50% during high-stakes windows like cutover (when a client's systems go live on our platform) or bank-audit windows (when a banking client is under regulatory examination and needs hands-on engineering support).
What You'll Do- Build integrations that scale across custodians - the institutions that hold and safeguard a client's assets - designing connective tissue between Wealth's platform and custodian systems that is reusable across your whole client base rather than one-off per client.
- Apply deep security and systems expertise to integrations with external financial institutions, reasoning carefully about what is secure and what isn't.
- Operate with calm precision in regulated and adversarial technical rooms - bank compliance reviews, security audits, and other high-scrutiny environments where things can get tense and mistakes are expensive.
- Maintain operational rigor around deployment, credential and key rotation, and incident response - the unglamorous but critical ops discipline that keeps a live financial integration from breaking silently.
- Embed with clients during peak deployment windows to ensure our platform works reliably in their production environment.
What You'll Bring- Strong problem-solving and communication skills under pressure in front of clients, not just the ability to solve problems alone at a desk.
- Deep expertise in systems integration, financial services infrastructure, or comparable domain knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to reason about security in the context of external system integrations and regulatory compliance.
- Operational discipline and attention to detail in high-stakes deployment and incident response scenarios.
- Comfort operating in regulated environments and working collaboratively with banking clients and compliance teams.
