Full Job Description
The Role

You are Rubie's face/tip of the spear for our customers. During early roll-outs you sit inside their problem space and make sure they win. Once we sign up new customers, they'll be handed over to you to oversee their onboarding and integration. You will need to:
  • Manage stakeholders and timelines to ensure quick adoption.
  • Provide technical feedback to the engineering team on potential issues or bottlenecks
  • Design and build custom data migration playbooks (coding not required, but understanding of data models and comfort with data manipulation is a must)
  • Anticipate any new needs, expansion or challenges

Day-to-day you will:
  • Guarantee 100% retention: You own the metric. Whatever it takes.
  • Dive into datasets: make sense of them, manipulate them, map them. You need to be as comfortable with unstructured data as you are with VLOOKUPs on massive datasets
  • Design and execute playbooks: Use our platform to create data migration playbooks and use every tool at your disposal to unblock weird edge cases.
  • Operate in the field: Pair with product and engineering; jump on calls; debug live; be willing to hop on a plane when needed; communicate clearly under pressure.
  • Feed the roadmap: Translate frontline chaos into crisp product requirements and implementation guides for the core engineering team.
  • Tackle "impossible" projects: When a customer's need looks hopeless, you volunteer first, and then deliver.
  • Be the primary point of contact for high-stakes customers: from non-technical ops teams living in spreadsheets to deeply technical stakeholders, often under real time pressure (live migrations, sales deadlines, post-acquisition cleanups), where data accuracy and clear communication are non-negotiable.

We are a product-first company, you are our customers' ally to materialize the vision.

About You
  • Hungry & scrappy: You like hard problems, long hours, and tangible impact.
  • Glass-chewer: Ambiguity and gnarly data sets energize you. You know what the mission is and that we'll get you where you want to be
  • Technical literacy: Comfortable using AI to write quick scripts, wrangle APIs, and dissecting data requirements. Even better if you've been a software engineer in a past role.
  • Technical literacy: At least 1 year of software development experience. Languages are not important, but you must be comfortable writing and modifying scripts, debugging technical and data-related customer issues, reasoning about APIs and data models, and dissecting ambiguous data requirements.
  • Customer-obsessed communicator: You can translate between business, ops, and engineering in real time.
  • High-ownership operator: You run toward fires and stay until they're out.
  • NYC-based (or willing to relocate): You believe speed and trust compound in person.

If you've worn any of these hats before - onboarding engineer, implementation engineer, forward-deployed engineer, solutions architect, or solutions engineer - you'll ramp fast.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive salary + meaningful equity. Everyone at Rubie is an owner.
  • Premium health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 5-day-a-week in-office culture in Union Square, NYC
  • Relocation assistance for the right candidate.
  • The chance to build category-defining tech and wealth at the same time.

FAQ:
  • What's the required experience level?
    • We're open to earlier career candidates (including new grads) who can prove that you are ready to hustle and learn quickly
  • Can I be remote for this role?
    • No, we are an in person team in New York City 5 days a week
  • Do I need to know how to write code?
    • No, but if a task at hand calls for it then we'll expect you use LLMs and our engineering team to hack together a solution to your problem
    • (That said - if you do know how to code, that's definitely a plus!)
  • What's the interview process
    • We move fast and also want to ensure full transparency during the process:
      • You will talk with one of our leaders first
      • Next step: group interview for 60min where we will go over the day to day, past experiences and our values - this will include our founding FDE and our CEO
      • Last step: onsite "real life" experience. We aim at providing a taste of what it's like to work at Rubie
