Full Job Description
ON-SITE POSITION

This position works as a member of a highly dynamic production team to ensure both product quality and integrity. As a QA Manager this role is responsible for evaluating, maintaining, and continuously improving the company Quality System. Assure full compliance to BRC, FDA, FSMA, OSHA, DOL and EPA regulations. Assure product quality by reviewing conformance to specifications, formulas, procedures, and process control protocols. Assure compliance to HACCP program and solid implementation of all pre-requisites to guarantee the integrity and wholesomeness of all products manufactured or distributed by GAC Manufacturing LLC. Maintain positive interactions with customers by addressing questions and concerns. Coach and develop subordinates to maximize their potential and contribution to the department.

Essential Duties

These duties directly and substantially serve to achieve the purpose of the position.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure pre-requisite programs are implemented and managed.
  • Ensure HACCP and HARPC program compliance.
  • Ensure Company remains in compliance with BRC certification
  • Ensure compliance of CCPs
  • Ensure document control is followed and maintained.
  • Must be able to create and execute new pre-requisite to comply with new 3rd party audits. AIB, BRC, SQF, etc.
  • Ensure compliance from PCQI.
  • Ensure compliance with OU Kosher program, be the main point of contact for audits with the Rabi.
  • Manage consumer complaint program and customer inquiries. Generate statistical analysis and corrective actions.
  • Ensure all critical control parameters are monitored according to plan
  • Evaluates conformance to quality standards, appraises, evaluates, and release conforming product
  • Provides training and coaching to all associates related to quality and food safety
  • Support product development in the launch and implementation of new product and product improvements in the plant.
  • Ensure execution of pre-operational inspections prior to product run on each shift to ensure measures are taken to ensure quality standards are understood.
  • Ensure compliance of Wastewater Treatment Plant, and EPA
  • Ensure compliance of Storm Water Preventive Pollution Plan, and EPA
  • Ensure compliance from 3rd party sanitation company.
  • Liaison between sanitation and chemical provider.
  • Be able to execute Lean, Six Sigma, Waste Reduction, and Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Manage electronic and paper files.
  • Able to use of analytical and measuring tools such as moisture analyzers, pH meters, thermometers, Brix analyzers, viscometers, density cups, calipers, rulers etc.
  • Able to perform technical research pertinent to Job function.
  • Employees may be assigned to work in other areas and perform other duties as requested by Management.


Professional Skills
  • Good understanding of baking, cooking and mixing principles as they apply to the baking industry.
  • Good understanding of functional ingredients used in bread, cookies, pastry, and other baked goods.
  • Good Computer Skills (MS. Office Suite) and Aptitudes
  • Follow and direct company regulations including confidentiality.
  • Knowledge and Experience with third party Audits under GFSI.
  • Knowledge and Experience managing state audits i.e. GADA, DOE.
  • Experience and knowledge working with MRP Software
  • Experience and knowledge managing cross functional auditing teams for quality and food safety.
  • Technical experience in a manufacturing plant, processing, or packaging of products.
  • Good Supervisory Skills.
  • Good Math Skills
