The Test and Evaluation team at Anduril is integral to our mission, ensuring that every product meets the highest standards of performance and reliability. Our team specializes in a broad spectrum of testing activities, including developmental testing using surrogate vehicles. We are at the forefront of testing approaches, particularly in the domain of complex imaging systems. As we expand, we're seeking a methodical engineer who is prepared to tackle the challenges of system testing and contribute to the iterative development and refinement of these imaging systems.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Contribute to developmental testing of tactical imaging systems, both ground testing and integration into airborne based systems in a fast-paced test environment.
- With oversight, integrate Anduril's Test and Evaluation process into the program and ensure adherence throughout the life of the program.
- With supervision, ensure safe operations of all testing efforts in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, hardware engineers, and product managers, to define test requirements and ensure alignment with system capabilities and mission objectives.
- Support the continuous improvement of test procedures, safety protocols, and documentation standards to uphold the integrity of all test operations.
- With guidance, coordinate with private/government test sites to test and evaluate systems and software
- Analyze data from tests to validate system performance and identify areas for improvement
- Become a technical resource in the product(s) you are supporting
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field from an accredited institution.
- 0-2 years of test engineering experience, other engineer discipline experience, or comparable skill (i.e. military exercise planning & evaluation)
- Hands-on project experience, whether through internships, senior capstone projects, personal builds, or hobby engineering that demonstrates practical problem-solving ability
- No extensive test process experience required, but a willingness to learn the rigor of formal test planning, safety review boards, Flight/Test Readiness Reviews, and technical report writing is essential
- Ability to interpret and analyze test data using tools such as MATLAB, Python, or similar
- Proactively seeks solutions and takes ownership of problems rather than waiting for tasking
- Must be coachable and able to rapidly implement feedback from senior engineers and management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting test results and briefing findings
- Willingness to work flexible hours and on test ranges in field conditions, including remote or austere environments
- Flexibility to adapt to varying schedules and willingness to travel to test sites as needed. Up to 50% travel during critical phases of testing.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
- In this role, you will be subject to pre-employment and randomized substance screening, as required by the Company.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Current Secret or Top Secret security clearance
- Demonstrated interest in engineering beyond the classroom - hobby projects, competition teams (AIAA, SAE, FSAE, Design-Build-Fly), or personal tinkering encouraged
- Direct experience in the development, testing, and deployment of autonomy or imaging systems in a defense or aerospace context.
- Familiarity with FAA, FCC, and other relevant regulations
- RC pilot experience in Groups 1 - 3 rotary and fixed wing UAVs
- Familiarity with software development practices and experience with programming languages used in autonomy and robotics (e.g., Python, C++, ROS).
- Experience with the Department of War
