What You'll Be Doing
The position involves performing skilled mechanical repair work on a diversified fleet of trucks, automobiles, and light/heavy equipment, up-fitting emergency equipment; and performing related duties as required. This position may be deemed essential personnel for inclement weather or operational emergencies.

Required Qualifications
Fleet Maintenance Technician I ($53,570-$116,738 DOQ): High School Diploma/GED. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair. Possession of a valid driver's license and a safe driving record. Ability to obtain Commercial Driver's License (CDL)- Class B with Air Brakes endorsement within six (6) months of employment. Ability to obtain at least two (2) ASE certifications in either Automotive or Medium/Heavy Truck category, with at least one (1) certification in Automotive or Medium/Heavy Brakes, within one (1) year of employment. Ability to obtain Forklift Certification within one (1) year of employment. CPR, AED and First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment.
Fleet Maintenance Technician II ($54,601-$118,983 DOQ): High School Diploma/GED. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair. Possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - Class B with Air Brakes endorsement. Possession of Virginia State Vehicle Inspector License. ASE Automobile and Light Truck certifications in Brakes, Steering and Suspension, and Heating and Air Conditioning. Possess at least two (2) other ASE certifications in the Automobile and Light Truck or Medium-Heavy Truck category. Forklift Certification or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment. CPR, AED and First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment.
Fleet Maintenance Technician III ($57,540-$127,295 DOQ): High School Diploma/GED. Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair. Computer skills including knowledge of work order systems. Possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - Class B with Air Brakes endorsement. Possession of Virginia State Vehicle Inspector License. ASE Automobile and Light Truck certifications in Brakes, Steering and Suspension, and Heating and Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and at least one (1) ASE in the Medium-Heavy Truck category. Possess at least five (5) other ASE certifications in the Automobile and Light Truck or Medium-Heavy Truck category or a brand specific certification e.g. John Deere. Forklift Certification or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment. CPR, AED and First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
Fleet Maintenance Technician I: Possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)- Class A. Master ASE certified in Automotive or Medium/Heavy Truck. Virginia State Vehicle Inspector License. Install/Up-fit and assembly experience. Bilingual in English/Spanish.
Fleet Maintenance Technician II: More than five (5) years of experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair. Experience with operating heavy equipment, including loader, backhoe, skid-steer, tractors, etc. Master ASE certified in Automotive or Medium/Heavy Truck. Computer skills including knowledge of work order systems. Bilingual in English/Spanish.
Fleet Maintenance Technician III: More than seven (7) years of experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair. Experience operating heavy equipment, including loader, backhoe, skid-steer, tractors, etc. Master ASE certified in Automotive or Medium/Heavy Truck. Bilingual in English/Spanish.
