Fleet Maintenance Manager : Up to $115,000 annually based on experience/skill set PLUS Bonus!
OBJECTIVE The General Manager, MHE Operations provides overall leadership and accountability for three material handling equipment maintenance shops located in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. This individual is responsible for safe and reliable maintenance operations, customer satisfaction, contractual compliance, workforce leadership, labor relations, and the financial performance of the assigned operations. The position directs multi-shift maintenance activities supporting forklifts, electric pallet jacks, reach trucks, counterbalance units, batteries, chargers, scrubbers, lifts, and related warehouse equipment. The General Manager establishes consistent operating standards across all locations while ensuring each shop responds effectively to site-specific customer needs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Multi-Site Operational Leadership
Direct and coordinate maintenance and repair activities across all three MHE shops, including multi-shift and weekend coverage where required.
Ensure all contractual service requirements, staffing commitments, operating procedures, and customer expectations are achieved.
Maintain a visible leadership presence and a culture of urgency, accountability, professionalism, and customer service.
Oversee preventive maintenance scheduling, repair execution, inspections, warranty administration, and complete maintenance records for customer equipment.
Monitor equipment uptime, repeat repairs, out-of-service units, PM currency, repair quality, and parts availability.
Ensure work orders are accurate, complete, timely, and properly coded for labor, parts, outside services, and warranty activity.
Promote effective troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and repair verification to reduce repeat failures and equipment downtime.
Inspect equipment and maintenance practices to confirm assets are serviced in accordance with manufacturer, company, and customer requirements.
Lead, coach, and develop shop foremen, lead technicians, technicians, battery technicians, and other assigned personnel.
Establish clear performance expectations; conduct performance evaluations, recognition, coaching, corrective action, and disciplinary processes in accordance with company policy.
Champion a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, company policies, customer rules, and applicable environmental standards.
Ensure timely completion of required safety training, inspections, audits, incident reporting, and corrective actions.
Report injuries, incidents, near misses, and safety violations in accordance with company procedures and coordinate investigations with the Corporate Safety Manager.
Maintain clean, organized, secure, and professional shop environments using sound housekeeping and parts-storage practices.
Ensure proper use of PPE, tools, lifting devices, battery-handling equipment, lockout/tagout procedures, and hazardous-material controls.

Working knowledge of electric and internal-combustion MHE, batteries, chargers, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair processes.
