Coffman Engineers is seeking a
Fire Protection Engineer with one to three years of working experience, who is passionate about their craft, wants to work on a high-functioning team, and looking for an environment that promotes professional growth. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, have a desire to work and grow with a multi-discipline engineering team, and be willing to have fun.
You would be providing our clients with automatic suppression system design, fire detection, alarm and mass notification system design, life-safety code analysis, egress analysis, fire resistant construction analysis, smoke control analysis and special inspection as well as general fire protection and life safety concepts and research.
Skills, Knowledge, and abilities:- Design and specify basic systems without continuous oversight.
- Assist in managing CAD and production efforts.
- Perform consulting services for internal clients, utilizing Fire Protection Engineering technical skills, including but not limited to: automatic suppression system design; fire detection, alarm and communication system design; code analysis; egress analysis; fire resistant construction analysis; smoke control analysis; as well as general fire protection and life safety concepts and research.
- Able to work independently as well as on teams.
- Possess intermediate level computer skills necessary for daily activities including email, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, and a working knowledge of computer-aided drafting and Revit, (fire dynamic simulation for fire protection engineers).
- Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale.
- Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities.
Qualifications- BS degree in engineering or related science from accredited college or university
- EIT (required).
- Minimum one year working experience in Fire Protection Engineering (consulting)
- General building construction knowledge
- Experience working with AutoCAD and Revit
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work on a high-functioning team
Expected Annual Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00.Sponsorship is not available for this position.Additional InformationCoffman offers a flexible schedule and this position may be eligible for PTO, a fun office environment with a high-performing team and a fully stocked kitchen!
