About the RoleResponsible for overseeing all Bindery operations, this role ensures that all finishing jobs are produced accurately, efficiently, and on schedule while maintaining high quality standards within a safe work environment. The manager provides leadership, training and direction to finishing staff, coordinates production workflows, and collaborates with other departments to achieve optimal customer satisfaction while achieving operational goals.
What You'll Do- Ensure an efficient workflow, including maintaining the quality level expected to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Evaluate condition of department equipment, including the necessary maintenance and repairs required to operate department with regard to quality, performance, and environmental impact.
- Review department employees' performances, including reviews of monthly employee performance compared to established goals and standards.
- Review and update department procedures as necessary.
- Submit proposals and justifications for departmental needs.
- Administer company policies and procedures as defined in the Employee Handbook, Technology Policy Guidelines, Code of Business Conduct, and other established company standards.
- Provide open communications to both employees and management.
- Follow all required safety procedures such as: PPE, Ergonomics, etc. Perform job in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees.
What You'll Bring- High School Diploma or GED
- 5 years of experience in commercial print bindery/finishing operations, including supervisory or management experience
- Strong technical knowledge of bindery equipment, workflows, and production processes
- Proven leadership, team building, and training skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Ability to interpret job tickets, layouts, and finishing specifications
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with production tracking systems and basic computer applications (Excel, ERP systems)
It's a Plus if You Have- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Print Technology, Operations Management, Industrial Management, or related field
Physical & Work Requirements- Ability to frequently lift, transport, and position materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work on the production floor as needed
- Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and walking
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with potential overtime, evening, or weekend hours to meet production demands
