Full Job Description
Position Summary

Monitor, analyze, and report on financial activity for assigned Law School departments and centers. Develop an understanding of assigned units' programs, operations, and financial needs, and serve as a primary Finance Office contact for budget and financial matters. Support the development of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial projections, including variance analysis, ad hoc Excel modeling, and analysis of key revenue and expense drivers. Monitor assigned areas of the Law School budget, assist with reconciliations and year-end financial activities. Prepare financial reports and analyses for departmental management, Finance leadership, and other stakeholders, as needed.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or related field.

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree MBA, MPA or equivalent is preferred but not required.

Required Experience:
2+ years relevant experience or equivalent combination.

Preferred Experience:
2+ years Related financial analysis or operations experience in higher education, non-profit, and/or complex organizations.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Strong quantitative, analytical, and financial modeling skills. Demonstrated ability to compile, manipulate, analyze, and interpret financial data and present findings clearly to financial and non-financial stakeholders. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications. Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively as part of a team.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proven ability to problem solve and to work both independently and as part of a team. Experience with PeopleSoft a plus.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $77,000.00 to USD $95,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
