The Opportunity: Finance Manager The Portfolio Finance Manager reports directly to the Portfolio Director of Finance and works as part of the broader Finance team. This is a technical role combining reporting and compliance ownership. You will be the portfolio's technical accounting specialist - owning the cash management process, ensuring robust internal controls and clean audit outcomes - while actively partnering with other department teams to raise reporting quality without becoming a bottleneck in day-to-day operations.
You will own the reporting and treasury function end-to-end: from intercompany reconciliation to IFRS 15 and 16, tax compliance, and cash management across your responsible businesses.
Location: Quebec, Ontario or Alberta (Remote)
International travel may be required for business process reviews and acquisition integration.
The salary range for this role is $90,000 -$100,000 CAD per year. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and location.
What You'll Own - Own the preparation and review of all assigned business month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close deliverables, including the statement of cash flows and dividend declarations.
- Own the treasury function - including monthly cash requirements reporting, banking administration, debt management, and maintaining accurate cash visibility at all times.
- Actively identify and implement AI-assisted automation opportunities within the controllership, reducing manual processing time and increasing capacity for higher-value analytical work.
- Lead the intercompany reconciliation and recharges process across your assigned businesses.
- Coordinate tax compliance obligations where required, specifically transfer pricing arrangements, consulting with external advisors as needed.
- Support acquisition integration from a technical accounting perspective - including step plan adherence, revenue recognition checklists, and PPA model review.
- Manage a team of 2-3, ensuring tasks are appropriately delegated and team members are coached and developed.
What We're Looking For - A minimum of 4-5 years of relevant accounting and financial reporting experience.
- CPA, CA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Previous experience operating at the manager level, with responsibility for overseeing key accounting processes and deliverables.
- Proven people management or team leadership experience, including coaching, supporting, and developing team members.
- Strong IFRS technical knowledge - specifically IFRS 15 (revenue recognition), IFRS 16 (leases), and IFRS 3 (business combinations / PPA); consolidation accounting experience is essential.
- Advanced Excel skills; demonstrated experience using AI tools (Claude, Copilot, or equivalent) to automate finance workflows; Python or Power Query experience is a strong advantage.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with teams across Finance, Operations, Sales, and other departments.
- Ability to perform under pressure and consistently meet deadlines.

Strongly Preferred - Experience in both public practice accounting and a private industry accounting environment
- Previous experience within the software industry, particularly in a recurring revenue or SaaS environment.
