JOB OVERVIEW:
The Finance “Co-Pilot” partners with business leaders to turn financial data into clear insights that improve decisions, performance, planning, and execution while maintaining financial discipline.
This role challenges assumptions, identifies risks and opportunities, and clarifies the financial impact of key decisions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Strategic Partnership & Decision Support
- Advise leaders on strategic, operational, investment, and capital decisions.
- Assess risks, opportunities, trade-offs, business cases, ROI, and scenarios.
- Promote governance, controls, and stronger finance acumen across the function.
Financial Planning & Performance Management
- Support forecasting, budgeting, long-range planning, and performance reviews.
- Translate data into insights, explain variances, and recommend corrective actions.
Analytics, Insights & Storytelling
- Use COE dashboards, KPIs, models, and Data & Insights support to monitor performance and standardize analysis.
- Connect operational metrics to financial outcomes across functions.
- Deliver clear financial stories that support timely decisions.
Operational & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner across functions, the COE, peer co-pilots, and Data & Insights to align financial goals with execution.
- Reduce low-value ad hoc analysis by improving decision support, automation, and standard processes.
- Quantify benefits, track savings, validate results, and bring finance input into discussions early.
Governance & Financial Discipline
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, controls, governance standards, audit readiness, and data integrity.
- Balance financial rigor with practical business solutions.
Leadership & Capability Building
- Coach leaders and mentor junior finance team members to strengthen finance capability.
- Improve finance tools, processes, and ways of working.

Specifics to the function co-piloted
- Partner with Procurement Leadership to evaluate and support optimal sourcing, supplier, and spend-management decisions including
- Sourcing strategy development and financial analysis
- Supplier negotiations, and contract reviews
- Strategic supplier performance and risk assessment
- Analyze financial performance including
- Purchase price variance, inflation, and productivity with recommended corrective actions where necessary
- Identification, validation, and tracking of cost savings opportunities
- Strengthen procedures around supplier spend, purchase commitments, and contract compliance.
- Support procurement-related cash flow forecasting and working capital management, including supplier payment terms, purchase commitments, and inventory impacts.
- Partner with Procurement, Supply Chain, and Operations to evaluate inventory replenishment strategies, balancing services levels, cost efficiency, and cash flow objectives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 6–10+ years of progressive finance experience, including business partnering, FP&A, or operational finance.
- Experience in a manufacturing, co-manufacturing, supply chain, or complex operational environment.
- Strong analytical, modeling, and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex data.
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and build trusted partnerships with senior leaders.
- Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to translate financial concepts for non-finance audiences.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- Combination of education, certifications, and commensurate experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
