This role requires associates to work out of a MVH North America hub location - Vancouver, WA | Santa Monica, CA | Tampa, FL | New York, NY

Why This Role Matters:
The Finance Manager is a critical strategic-enablement role within the Mars Veterinary Health (MVH) Strategy, Governance, & PMO function. Guided by our global Purpose-A BETTER WORLD FOR PETS-this role provides the quantitative baseline, financial rigor, and investment analysis necessary to steer MVH's digital and strategic portfolio.
Reporting directly to the Sr. Manager Portfolio Management, the Finance Manager serves as the core financial engine of the team. This role partners directly with Portfolio Managers to construct robust, data-backed business cases and return-on-investment (ROI) models, tracks the financial performance and variance of the global portfolio, and acts as the vital strategic bridge to the Digital Technologies (DT) Finance Business Partner. By injecting financial transparency and accountability into the Portfolio lifecycle, the Finance Manager ensures optimal capital allocation and the successful realization of business value.

You Will:
  • The Five Principles & Financial Stewardship
  • Live and model the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. (Quality, Responsibility, Mutuality, Efficiency, and Freedom), translating them into outstanding financial stewardship, transparency, and data integrity.
  • Champion Responsibility and Efficiency by safeguarding transformational and operational budgets, ensuring that capital and operating expenditures are deployed effectively to drive maximum value for pets, associates, and the business.

Business Case Financial Modeling & ROI Development
  • Partner directly with Portfolio Managers and Business Unit (BU) sponsors to critically evaluate proposed initiatives, assisting in the creation of quantitative business cases, total cost of ownership (TCO) assessments, and financial projections.
  • Build, standardize, and maintain advanced financial models, developing key valuation metrics including Return on Investment (ROI), Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and payback period.
  • Conduct objective sensitivity analyses and "what-if" modeling to stress-test business case assumptions (e.g., adoption rates, licensing costs, operational efficiencies) before executive submission.

Portfolio Financial Performance Tracking & Variance Analysis
  • Oversee the end-to-end tracking of financial performance across all MVH digital and technology portfolios, maintaining a consolidated view of budgeted vs. actual spend for both "Transform" (CapEx/Development) and "Run" (OpEx/Support) run rates.
  • Conduct detailed monthly and quarterly variance analyses, identifying trends, cost overruns, or underruns, and proactively escalate financial risks and mitigation options to the Sr. Manager Portfolio Management.
  • Support the portfolio team during regular governance gates by providing accurate financial status reports and data for central executive dashboards.

DT Finance Business Partner Collaboration
  • Act as the dedicated PMO interface to the Finance Business Partner for Digital Technologies (DT), ensuring absolute alignment on corporate accounting standards, amortization policies, and fiscal calendar timelines.
  • Support DT Finance with periodic forecasting, annual planning cycles, and budget reconciliation, matching PMO delivery roadmaps with corporate financial ledger realities.
  • Translate complex project-level delivery data into standardized corporate financial terminology to streamline communication between technology delivery teams and corporate finance.

Value Tracking & Post-Launch Performance Auditing
  • Collaborate with the Portfolio Business Analyst to maintain the value tracking database, measuring realized financial and operational benefits against the baseline assumptions defined in original business cases.
  • Conduct post-implementation financial reviews to validate actual cost and benefit realization, feeding learnings back into future valuation models to continuously refine organizational forecasting accuracy.

Your Experience Should Include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a highly quantitative field
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate finance, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), or management consulting
