Full Job Description
Finance Manager - FP&A
The Finance Manager - FP&A will lead financial planning and analysis while coordinating the financial integration of newly acquired funeral homes. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you'll take ownership of monthly reporting, variance analysis, key performance indicators (KPIs), budgeting, and forecasting while supporting acquisitions from pre-close planning through post-close integration.
Working closely with Finance, Accounting, M&A, Integration, and Operations, you'll help standardize reporting across locations, strengthen financial systems and processes, and provide actionable insights to support business decisions. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role offering meaningful ownership, executive visibility, and the opportunity to help build scalable financial capabilities as Milestone grows.
This is a primarily remote position, with a preference for candidates in the Greater Portland, Maine area. Remote candidates throughout New England will be considered, with periodic onsite presence in Lewiston/Auburn and limited acquisition-related travel required.

- Shape how leadership sees performance across 110+ locations through KPI and NSPB budget and forecast reporting
- Lead ad hoc analysis and special projects for the CFO, including board materials, lender requests and acquisition decisions
- Coordinate the annual budget and rolling forecasts with operating leadership

Acquisition Financial Integration
The Finance Manager will be the finance lead for each acquisition, from pre-close through the first full budget cycle, coordinating with our full time integration team. Maintain and execute a standard finance integration checklist with defined owners, deadlines, deliverables and escalation procedures. The finance manager will not be responsible for technical accounting or general ledger activity.
- Run the finance integration checklist, coordinating the M&A team, Integration Director, accounting team and acquired businesses
- Onboard historical financials and set up reporting structures, GL mappings, banking and payroll
- Bring acquired entities into NetSuite and the monthly reporting and budgeting cadence
- Hold acquisitions accountable to their investment thesis by tracking revenue, EBITDA, synergies and add-backs against underwriting, and translate underwriting into post-close budgets
What You'll Bring
Required
- 5-10 years of finance and accounting experience, including meaningful FP&A responsibility
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, with strong budgeting, forecasting and management reporting experience
- Working knowledge of general ledger structures, financial statements and the month-end close

- Experience with acquisition integration, multi-entity reporting or high-growth businesses
- Background in a private equity-backed, acquisitive or multi-location company
This is a manager-level individual contributor position; prior people-management experience is not required, and a strong Senior Financial Analyst prepared for broader ownership will be considered.
