Full Job Description
Finance Manager - Jonas Software

Job Description:

Our business is one in which building relationships and working with others on the team are critical. The position requires a skilled verbal and written communicator with the confidence and polish to speak with senior executives, accountants, and colleagues.

You are driven to perform, results-oriented and willing to do what it takes. You have excellent interpersonal skills and are an enthusiastic energetic self-starter with a strong sense of customer focus. You are extremely organized and do not let details slip through the cracks. You are a strong listener and collaborative individual, who likes to put forward suggestions and ideas on how to improve the status quo, with a strong focus on process management. You are comfortable being the senior finance voice in the room with business leadership, and confident making and defending judgment calls where there is no established playbook. You are comfortable owning a dynamic financial reporting and compliance calendar while remaining responsive to the operational priorities of the business units you support. You understand that finance runs on a cycle, and that a growing portfolio brings periods of higher intensity alongside quieter stretches. You are interested in how technology and AI are changing the finance function and look for opportunities to apply them.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an important member of our Finance team you will work independently to oversee finance results and operations for a growing portfolio of software companies, including full balance sheet and profit and loss ownership

Financial reporting and control
• Own the integrity of the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close, including review of journal entries, accruals and financial analysis
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and provide financial oversight over key areas such as deferred revenue, contract assets, prepaids, accrued liabilities and other accounts
• Own quarterly and annual financial statement preparation and the note disclosure process for your portfolio
• Determine and document the accounting position on new and non-standard customer contracts under IFRS 15, and set the treatment applied across your portfolio
• Act as the main contact for internal and external audit, coordinate requests across your businesses, own resolution of audit findings, and maintain a strong internal control environment

FP&A and Strategic Finance
• Lead the quarterly forecast process by partnering with Business Unit & Group Leadership, supporting and challenging their plans and forecasts
• Translate performance against forecast into recommendations for Business Unit leadership, including product-line profitability, using KPI and non-financial data
• Act as the primary finance partner to Business Unit leadership on pricing, margin, working capital and investment decisions, balancing operational priorities against reporting and compliance deadlines

People, process, systems and technology
• Manage, coach and develop a team of 1 to 3 direct reports (may include onshore or offshore team members)
• Continuously improve procedures and develop reports to drive insight and accountability, including the use of automation and AI tooling
• Support newly acquired businesses through financial integration and onto Microsoft Dynamics 365 as the corporate standard, and contribute to ongoing system rollouts, as required
• Participate in special projects and ad hoc assignments as required

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
• CPA designation
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including audit experience at a Big 4 or national firm
• Minimum of 1 year of experience managing and developing direct reports
• Strong fundamental accounting and audit knowledge with an excellent grasp of IFRS reporting standards, including IFRS 15 in a complex multi-deliverable environment
• Experience owning the close, reporting cycle and audit for multiple legal entities
• Demonstrated ownership of the finance function for a business or portfolio, including accountability for the accuracy of reported results
• Demonstrated experience designing, improving or automating finance processes, including the use of Large Language Models and Artificial Intelligence tools from frontier labs
• Sound understanding of contracting terms and conditions, and the assessment of commercial risk and its implications on accounting treatment
• Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling and data interrogation
• Excellent administrative and organizational skills, with strong time management and the ability to set priorities and respond professionally to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to interact with all levels of management, and to influence senior business leaders through logical reasoning and the presentation of alternatives

CONSIDERED AN ASSET:
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, Vena Solutions or equivalent ERP and EPM solutions
