Join CBRE's Finance team supporting a high-profile client in the financial services sector. In this highly visible role, you'll serve as a trusted financial partner, helping drive strategic business decisions through forecasting, planning, reporting, and financial analysis. You'll collaborate closely with client leadership and key stakeholders, delivering insights that influence business performance and support long-term growth.
As a CBRE Finance Manager, you'll oversee annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, strategic planning, management reporting, and other critical finance activities. You'll play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, identifying opportunities for improvement, and supporting operational and strategic objectives.
This position is part of CBRE's Financial Strategy & Operations function, which is responsible for maintaining financial controls, reporting standards, and governance processes while enabling informed business decision-making.
Location & Travel:
For internal candidates, this position may be worked remotely with quarterly and occasional ad hoc travel to Kansas City. External candidates should reside in or near the Kansas City area to support ongoing engagement with the client and business stakeholders.
What You'll Do:
• Lead annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, strategic planning, and management reporting activities for the client account.
• Partner with client stakeholders and business leaders to provide financial insights, influence decision-making, and support strategic objectives.
• Prepare and deliver recurring and ad hoc financial analysis, reporting packages, forecasts, and presentations for senior leadership and client stakeholders.
• Identify financial risks, opportunities, and process improvements, providing recommendations that drive business performance and operational efficiency.
• Lead, develop, and coach a team of finance professionals, providing performance feedback, career development support, and guidance to drive high levels of engagement and results.
• Oversee day-to-day team operations, establish priorities, delegate responsibilities, and ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Review financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow reporting, and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established controls.
• Review and approve monthly journal entries and other accounting-related transactions.
• Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of financial policies, procedures, and governance standards.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance financial processes, reporting capabilities, and operational effectiveness.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex financial and operational issues, recommending solutions that improve outcomes and support business goals.
• Model behaviors consistent with CBRE's RISE values while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
What You'll Need:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field preferred. In lieu of a degree, a combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
• 5+ years of progressive finance, accounting, FP&A, or related experience, including team leadership responsibilities.
• Proven experience leading, developing, and coaching high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical skills with experience working across multiple large and complex data sets to identify trends, deliver insights, and support business decisions.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to manipulate, analyze, and reconcile large volumes of data with a high degree of accuracy.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, variance analysis, and financial planning processes.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to identify issues and recommend practical solutions.
• Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively to a variety of stakeholders, including senior leadership.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams, drive accountability, and influence positive business outcomes.
• Strong financial acumen, including the ability to perform and interpret financial calculations, analyze results, and make data-driven recommendations.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.
CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Finance Manager position is $110,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Finance Manager position is $120,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
