JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:

Directs the department's activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.

Required Skills:

Essential Functions

  • Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements
  • Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including financial activities, service levels, and performance outcomes
  • Plans and monitors staffing activities including hiring, orientation, evaluation, and development
  • Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets ensuring compliance with allocated funding
  • Coordinates and directs internal and external audits
  • Fosters an environment that encourages professional growth and development
  • Ensures alignment with the organization’s continuum of care
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Position serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, and contractors
  • Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manages the work of others including planning, assigning, and reviewing work
  • Responsible for hiring, training, performance management, and corrective action for staff

  • Financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive computer tasks
  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 20 pounds
  • Requires visual acuity including close, distance, and peripheral vision
  • Ability to communicate effectively and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred
  • Applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of education

 

Work Environment:

  • Work performed in a climate-controlled office and hospital environment
  • Potential exposure to biohazards and infectious materials
  • Noise level typical of office and healthcare settings
  • Occasional travel required (up to 10%)
