Full Job Description
The Role

We are looking for a curious finance leader who wants to do more than close the books. You will own our accounting, taxes, and budget. You will also be the person who asks, "Where are we leaving money on the table?" and then goes and finds it.

You will work side by side with the CEO and our Director of Treasury.

What You Will Do
  • Own the month-end close, general ledger, and monthly financial statements in QuickBooks.
  • Build the annual budget and forecast with the CEO, and track results against it every month.
  • Manage company tax filings and work with our outside CPA firm.
  • Find ways to make and save money. Study client profitability, pricing, vendor costs, and income on funds we hold for clients.
  • Build simple monthly reports that show margin by client and by service line.
  • Manage the finance side of our own 401(k) and benefits plans, including contributions, reconciliations, and required filings.
  • Partner with the Director of Treasury on cash flow, bank relationships, and internal controls over client funds.
  • Lead, coach, and develop operations staff on accounting/banking practices

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. CPA preferred but not neccesary.
  • 7+ years of accounting or finance experience, including at least 3 years owning the month-end close and leading people.
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP, month-end close, and business tax.
  • Strong Excel skills. QuickBooks experience preferred.
  • Experience in payroll, PEO, HR services, banking, or another business that handles client money is a big plus.
  • A curious mind. You like digging into numbers and turning what you find into action.
