Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred but not required.
• 7+ years of accounting or finance experience, with at least 3 years leading month-end close.
• Proficient in GAAP, month-end close procedures, and business tax regulations.
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with QuickBooks preferred.
• Experience in payroll, PEO, HR services, banking, or related financial services that manage client funds is advantageous.
• Demonstrates a curious mind, with a passion for analyzing numbers to drive decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close process, general ledger, and financial statements using QuickBooks.
• Collaborate with the CEO to build and monitor the annual budget and forecasts.
• Oversee company tax filings and coordinate with external CPA firm.
• Identify financial opportunities by analyzing client profitability, pricing, and vendor costs.
• Develop simple monthly reports detailing margins by client and service line.
• Manage the finance operations of 401(k) and benefits plans, ensuring compliance and accurate filings.
• Partner with the Director of Treasury to oversee cash flow and internal controls regarding client funds.
