A Snapshot of Your Day
As the Field Service Manager for Transmission Services, you will lead a team of Field Service Engineers supporting FACTS, HVDC, and Grid Access service projects across North America. You will coordinate resource planning, mobilization, technical support, and safe field execution for maintenance, warranty, outage, repair, and after-sales activities. You will balance customer priorities, project schedules, and team development while working closely with project management, engineering, factories, supply chain, and commercial teams. You will serve as the primary escalation point for field execution and help ensure that every assignment is completed safely, with high quality, and in line with contractual and financial targets.
How You'll Make an Impact
• Lead, develop, and mentor a geographically dispersed team of Field Service Engineers and technical specialists supporting high-voltage transmission, FACTS, HVDC, and Grid Access systems, while driving workforce capability, performance, and succession planning.
• Oversee resource planning, scheduling, utilization, and deployment of field personnel across service projects, outages, commissioning, retrofits, warranty work, and emergency response activities to ensure efficient execution and customer support.
• Provide technical leadership and operational oversight for maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, commissioning, and modernization activities, serving as the primary escalation point for complex technical, safety, and resource-related challenges.
• Ensure safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible execution of field operations in accordance with Siemens Energy standards, customer requirements, OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout procedures, and site-specific safety protocols.
• Partner with project management, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and external contractors to drive project readiness, manage risks, monitor performance metrics, and ensure delivery of high-quality service outcomes on schedule and within budget.
• Drive continuous improvement through standardization, lessons learned, knowledge sharing, workforce development, and customer engagement, while supporting business growth through technical input, resource planning, risk assessment, and execution strategy for service opportunities.
What You Bring
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant field experience.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience supporting high-voltage transmission, power systems, field service, or industrial project execution environments, with FACTS and/or HVDC experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical professionals, field service teams, or site operations, with a track record of coaching, performance management, and workforce development.
• Strong technical expertise in the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and modernization of high-voltage electrical equipment and systems.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, resources, contractors, and customer priorities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, schedule performance, cost control, and operational execution.
