Full Job Description
Job Type Full-time Description SHINE Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Field Engineer takes ownership for identifying and resolving issues related to planning and implementation of the process systems and mechanical systems of the SHINE Medical Isotope Production Facility. A hands-on engineer with construction experience and focus on piping, pumps, tubing, welding, pipe supports, and HVAC. This position requires working closely with structural, electrical, I&C engineers to identify and resolve issues in a collaborative environment. The Mechanical Field Engineer is responsible for working with SHINE Engineering and outside Engineers of Record to finalize layouts and ensure complete designs. The Mechanical Field Engineer works with Contractors to ensure designs are correctly implemented in the field, configuration control is maintained, all testing is completed as required, and documentation is correct to support closeout and handover to SHINE Commissioning and Operations. The base salary range for this position is $105,000 - $135,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Duties and Responsibilities: Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 3Utilize prior construction and engineering experience to develop a plan of action to resolve issues affecting design installation, including reviewing drawings, codes, contractor submittals and the 3D model. 3Conduct constructability reviews of existing designs to identify potential issues affecting installation or operability. 3Conduct constructability reviews of new engineering designs, including potentially supporting design completions as part of Engineering organization, as necessary 3Servant-Leader mentality identifying issues before installation and proposing design solutions to SHINE Engineering. 3Ensure configuration control is maintained by initiating ECRs (Engineering Change Requests) for design changes and follow through ECR implementation in the field. 3Provide field oversight to ensure that the facility is built in accordance with the design. Ensure structural design, facility mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment (MEP), and plant process equipment are built in accordance with drawings and specifications. 3Collaborate directly with Contractors and Engineering to resolve field issues expeditiously using the RFI (Requests For Information) and ECR (Engineering Change Requests) process. 3Utilize information available to develop a plan of action to resolve issues in the field, including reviewing drawings, codes, contractor submittals and the 3D model. 3Generate and respond to RFIs, and draft ECRs including drawing markups, using Adobe or Bluebeam with technical and formal accuracy. 3Draft ECRs including drawing markups, using Adobe or Bluebeam with technical and formal accuracy. 3Observe construction activities daily and validate Contractor reported progress. 3Perform field reconnaissance and identify potential discrepancies from approved design documents prior to installation by Contractors. 3Accountable for ensuring assigned work packages remain current, all hold points are met, and work packages are reviewed and closed in a timely manner. 3Identify and track items adverse to quality and provide solutions to resolve non-confirming designs via the NCR process. 3Perform weekly in-process reviews of work packages to ensure inspections and documentation are current. 3Perform field walkdowns of completed SSC installations in support of testing and subsequent closure of work packages. 3Initiate corrective action program (Certrec) Issue Management Reports (IMR), and complete assigned actions. 3Support and assist all divisions of the company as needed to execute activities required to complete the construction of the Production Facility and turnover to the Operations organization. 3Use clear and effective communication to interface and collaborate with external stakeholders to advance SHINE project goals (engineer of record, contractors and vendors). 3Exhibit a positive attitude when tackling field issues and exemplifying personal accountability by following through issues to completion 3Be a champion for safety by executing walkdowns in a safe manner, and coaching others, when needed to improve overall site safety. 3Other duties as assigned by the Field Engineering Manager. Requirements 3Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical preferred) with a minimum of five (5) years' experience in one or more areas of construction or project management (e.g., work execution, work planning, field engineering etc.) at an active capital construction project. 310 years' experience as a field engineer in any one of the focused disciplines including mechanical engineering may be substituted in lieu of the education requirement. 3Ability to work in a team environment and to take directions as well as think independently. 3Ability to read, analyze, and interpret construction drawings, specifications, procedures, and government regulations. 3Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and drive acceptable resolutions. 3Ability to utilize Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as Adobe, Bluebeam. 3Ability to climb ladders, enter confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs. 3Industry experience in construction or operations of nuclear facilities (Part 50 or 70) preferred. Working Conditions and Physical Effort: Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily.
