Job Description

We are seeking a Field Engineer to support mission-critical communications infrastructure and enterprise networking operations for a key U.S. Government customer.

The Field Engineer- Expert will be responsible for deploying, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing enterprise IT and communications infrastructure in support of global customer operations. This position requires extensive hands-on experience with networking equipment, telecommunications systems, structured cabling, and infrastructure deployments in both CONUS and OCONUS environments. The successful candidate will work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams supporting mission-critical installations around the world.

The Field Engineer - Expert shall possess the following capabilities:
  • Deploy, install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain enterprise network and communications equipment supporting customer operations.
  • Conduct domestic and international site surveys to evaluate facility readiness and develop installation plans.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Cisco routers, switches, telecommunications equipment, servers, UPS systems, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Perform system integration, operational testing, acceptance testing, and troubleshooting of installed equipment.
  • Install, terminate, test, and certify CAT5, CAT6, and fiber optic cabling infrastructure.
  • Configure and maintain AC/DC power systems and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex network connectivity and hardware issues in remote operational environments.
  • Coordinate equipment shipments, deliveries, inventory, and logistics activities supporting field installations.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, installation drawings, system diagrams, and as-built documentation using government standards and procedures.
  • Train customer personnel in the operation, maintenance, and testing of installed communications and network systems.
  • Provide technical leadership during field deployments while managing installation activities and ensuring projects remain on schedule.
  • Support large-scale infrastructure modernization efforts and enterprise technology refresh initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with customer engineering standards, installation procedures, and security requirements.
  • Travel internationally (OCONUS) up to 50% in support of customer mission requirements.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum six (6) years of experience as a Field Engineer supporting enterprise IT infrastructure, communications systems, or network engineering programs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience may be substituted.
  • Demonstrated experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Cisco routers and switches.
  • Demonstrated experience with IP networking technologies
  • Experience leading field installation efforts and supporting project planning, preparation, and execution.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot complex technical issues while performing onsite customer installations.
  • Demonstrated experience installing and supporting AC/DC power systems and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience with structured cabling including CAT5, CAT6, and fiber optic installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting.


Position requires active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph

Pay Range: $155,000 - $180,000
