Position Overview

As a Field Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering complex infrastructure projects while developing the technical, leadership, and problem-solving skills needed for a successful construction career. District Overview

Mammoth Precast Solutions is a subsidiary of Kiewit, one of the largest engineering and construction organizations in North America. We provide clients with state-of-the-art operations to ensure the highest quality precast concrete projects. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about infrastructure and committed to the construction industry rather than design.

We have projects scattered throughout the state of California, in large cities and small towns. This position however is to be based out of Antioch, CA at our Precast Facility known as Kie-Con, Inc.

Responsibilities

Field Operations
  • Interpret drawings and specifications for craft and field personnel.
  • Assist with work planning, work package development, and material procurement.
  • Coordinate material deliveries and production schedules.
  • Support the superintendent with pile production, loadout activities, and day-to-day operations.
  • Perform monthly material inventory and maintain accurate records.
  • Update and manage production casting schedules within company systems.

Office Engineering
  • Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications.
  • Assist with the preparation and tracking of change orders for Project Manager review.
  • Provide field support and coordinate subcontractor activities.
  • Attend daily production meetings and document key discussions and action items.
  • Utilize technical and problem-solving skills to support operational efficiency and issue resolution.

Estimating
  • Review project documents, plans, and specifications to support bid preparation.
  • Analyze project data and assist with cost and scope evaluations.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and solicit pricing for bid packages.
  • Maintain and update estimating information within company systems.


Qualifications

  • Ability to travel and relocate as needed
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering, construction management or related degree
  • Infrastructure/Heavy Civil project experience is preferred
  • Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in a wide-ranging climates and environments
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
  • Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
  • Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

Base Compensation: $87,000/yr - $96,000/yr

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
