Field Construction Engineer - Mechanical (Rotating & Packaged Equipment)
Position Summary
Responsible for overseeing mechanical construction activities related to rotating and packaged equipment, ensuring safe execution, quality compliance, and adherence to project specifications, industry standards, and applicable codes. Supports construction, commissioning, and startup teams to achieve successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise installation, alignment, preservation, inspection, and pre-commissioning of rotating and packaged equipment.
  • Monitor contractor performance, safety compliance, and quality standards in the field.
  • Participate in system walkdowns, punch listing, and turnover activities.
  • Review technical documentation, procedures, reports, and inspection records.
  • Ensure proper equipment storage and preservation in accordance with manufacturer requirements.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Track construction progress and provide regular status updates.
  • Support commissioning and startup readiness activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in industrial construction projects within Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical, Chemical, or Power sectors.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with rotating and packaged equipment.
  • Experience with field engineering, mechanical completion, and commissioning support.
  • Knowledge of industrial standards, mechanical installation practices, and quality control processes.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred
  • Experience in brownfield projects.
  • Knowledge of equipment preservation and storage requirements.
  • TWIC or equivalent site-access certification.
  • Valid Driver's License.
