Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our engineering team in Northern California. This role is critical to successful delivery of a high-profile civil engineering program and to strengthening Arcadis' long-term partnership with our federal clients in California.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead and support select federal accounts and project teams of engineers, architects, and specialist consultants in planning and designing a wide range civil and infrastructure projects including levees, dams, engineering with nature, climate adaptation, etc. projects.

The role requires understanding, synthesizing, and balancing multiple problems, objectives, opportunities, constraints, and considerations present in densely developed, aged, and heavily used infrastructure, along with multi-disciplinary needs to develop solutions favorable to the client and to stakeholders, in alignment with federal program requirements. Primary objectives include risk reduction, cost effectiveness, adaptability, historic resources, and environmental resources.

Role accountabilities:
  • Functioning as a project manager as part of a delivery team on select federal, state, and / or municipal contracts
  • Ensuring technical leadership and quality control is in place for diverse, multidisciplinary delivery teams throughout all phases of a project including planning, design, and construction.
  • Functioning as the primary interface between the client staff and the consultant team. Engage with the client regularly from a position of familiarity with the consultant team's advances. Actively participate in knowledge sharing, brainstorming, and work planning with client staff.
  • Functioning as the project manager in establishing and then meeting project schedules, budgets, and quality objectives; assigning and monitoring of tasks; and ensuring adequate resources to deliver the work.
  • Working on a variety of projects simultaneously, as well as providing technical expertise and experience on other related projects.
  • Managing existing and an expanding base of clients by meeting or exceeding their expectations, by delivering quality work, and through active communication.
  • Mentoring junior-level technical staff.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Geotechnical/Coastal Engineering, or a related field
  • 10 years of experience in infrastructure design and implementation
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in California

We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $155,000 - $220,000/year. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
