The Columbus Organization is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Primary Care Physician to provide comprehensive outpatient care to adults and adolescents in Sevierville, Tennessee.
This opportunity offers an exceptional combination of meaningful community-based medicine and work-life balance, including a Monday-Friday daytime schedule, outpatient-only practice, approximately 12-15 patients per day, and no routine weekend, holiday, or on-call coverage.
The physician will provide primary care and women's health services while collaborating with Advanced Practice Nurses and other members of the clinical team to improve access to high-quality healthcare within the community.
Role SummaryThe Primary Care Physician will provide comprehensive outpatient medical services to adult and adolescent patients, including preventive care, evaluation and management of acute and chronic conditions, and women's health services.
The physician will work collaboratively with Advanced Practice Nurses and other healthcare professionals while also serving as a clinical resource and preceptor. This position is ideal for a physician who values patient-centered care, professional collaboration, and the opportunity to serve individuals who may experience barriers to accessing healthcare.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive primary care services to adult and adolescent patients.
- Provide women's health services within the scope of the position.
- Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Promote preventive care, health education, and appropriate follow-up.
- Develop individualized, patient-centered treatment plans.
- Collaborate with Advanced Practice Nurses and other members of the healthcare team.
- Serve as a clinical preceptor and resource for Advanced Practice Nurses as appropriate.
- Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based medical practices and standards of care.
- Promote a compassionate and trusting clinical environment that encourages patient engagement and adherence to treatment plans.
- Support clinical, administrative, training, and operational needs throughout the assigned service area as needed.
- Travel approximately 20%, primarily within the surrounding service area.
Required Qualifications- MD or DO degree.
- -Board Certified or Board Eligible in a primary care specialty, including Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
- Valid and unrestricted Tennessee medical license.
- Valid DEA registration.
- Strong clinical judgment and commitment to patient-centered care.
- Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
- Ability to successfully complete required background screening.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience providing outpatient primary care to diverse patient populations.
- Experience providing women's health services.
- Experience collaborating with or precepting Advanced Practice Nurses.
- Interest in community-based medicine and improving healthcare access for underserved populations.
