Position Title: Family Law Junior AssociateA growing family law practice is seeking a Family Law Junior Associate to work closely with experienced attorneys on divorce, child custody, property division, and other complex family law matters. This role offers hands-on experience drafting pleadings and motions, conducting legal research, assisting with discovery, attending hearings, and serving as second chair on larger cases.
The ideal candidate is an active member of the California Bar with 1-3 years of family law or civil litigation experience who wants to build a long-term career in family law. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants meaningful mentorship, substantial case exposure, and a clear path toward managing an independent caseload.
Salary Range: $110,000 - $150,000 / annually, DOE
Responsibilities - Work closely with senior family law attorneys on divorce, custody, property division, and related matters
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, correspondence, and other legal documents
- Conduct legal research and assist with developing case strategies
- Attend hearings and assist with case preparation, filings, and ongoing litigation matters
- Serve as second chair on larger and more complex cases
- Communicate with clients alongside senior attorneys and provide responsive, professional support
- Handle basic matters with senior attorney guidance while progressively developing an independent caseload
Requirements - Active California Bar license
- 1-3 years of family law or civil litigation experience
- Strong interest in developing a long-term career in family law
- Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to navigate different case types, client needs, and sensitive family matters
- Comfortable working onsite during the initial training period
- Ability to meet established billable-hour expectations
