Job DescriptionFacility Operations Manager ISummaryClean Harbors is seeking a Facility Operations Manager I to oversee daily plant operations, including drum processing, tank farm activities, truck loading and unloading, and waste management. This role leads teams across multiple areas and shifts, supports the General Manager with staffing and facility performance, and serves as second in command when the General Manager is absent.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities- Oversee site operations, which may include drum pumping and dumping, tank farm operations, wastewater treatment, fuels blending, shredder operations, and truck loading and unloading.
- Ensure waste is routed, tracked, stored, and processed in accordance with DOT segregation requirements, facility permits, and operating procedures.
- Lead and develop Operations Supervisors, Plant Foremen, and operations employees across multiple areas and shifts.
- Set daily production goals, monitor performance, and identify opportunities to improve facility throughput and profitability.
- Partner with the General Manager on hiring, training, employee development, and performance management.
- Ensure employees follow Health and Safety procedures and hold teams accountable for compliance.
QualificationsQualifications- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field required; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- 5-7 years of relevant plant operations experience, including supervisory experience.
- DOT training required.
- Knowledge of waste processing, inventory and waste tracking systems, warehousing procedures, and applicable operating standards.
- Strong leadership, management, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel less than 10%.
