  • Negotiate and oversee vendor contracts and manage project change orders.

Overview

This position is for a Facility Construction Project Manager in the Facilities and Real Estate department. The selected candidate will be responsible for implementing project management requirements of the real estate and facility needs of Electric Boat at the Quonset Point, Rhode Island facility. Below is a list of some of the responsibilities this individual will be responsible for:

  • Provide capital project management duties in the development of new and/or renovated facilities along with the replacement of large mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and/or structural systems.
  • Conduct and oversee conceptual development, design, construction, turnover, closeout, and/or outfitting of various multi-faceted projects.
  • Work with Facilities leads, management, and building occupants, particularly business unit leaders, to ensure production requirements are addressed in the 5-year capital plan.
  • Work with Finance on overhead and capital budgets; submit monthly accruals, budget forecasts, and reconciliation of actuals.
  • Assist in the preparation and administration of design, consultant, and contractor agreements required to implement company real estate and facility requirements.
  • Lead diverse, multi-functional teams in design and construction of real estate projects, including but not limited to internal company teams, third party project managers, architects, engineers, material testing agencies, general contractors, and suppliers.
  • Execute the administration, negotiation, and oversight of vendor contracts and project change order management.

Candidates must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with design and construction contractors. Candidates will be expected to become involved in on-going issues through their own initiative, and will be expected to assist in the resolution of emergent issues using independent judgment, ingenuity and creativity.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must meet one of the following criteria:
    • A four-year degree in construction management, engineering, with a minimum five years of experience related to construction project management and/or capital project execution; OR
    • A minimum ten years of experience in construction project management and/or capital project execution

Preferred:

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, and/or Procore is preferred
