Full Job Description
Job Title: Facilities Process / Mechanical-Chemical Engineer

Role Overview
We are seeking a technical, detail-oriented Facilities Process / Mechanical-Chemical Engineer to join our multi-discipline design team. In this role, you will work on projects powering cutting-edge research, development, and high-tech manufacturing facilities. You will partner directly with client stakeholders, equipment owners, and next-generation tool manufacturers to establish design criteria, build utility requirement packages, and produce comprehensive construction documents for complex manufacturing tool installations and core infrastructure retrofits.

This is a high-impact, on-site role for an engineer who thrives in dynamic, densely packed industrial environments. You will perform engineering calculations, size mechanical/process equipment, design wet/dry utility layouts, and provide on-site construction support through RFIs and submittal reviews. If you possess a strong foundation in mechanical/chemical facilities engineering and a passion for industrial construction, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
System Design & Layout
• Utility & Process Design: Design and layout wet and dry piping, process chemical and specialty gas distribution lines, equipment water/wastewater systems, and specialized exhaust infrastructure.
• Building Retrofits: Design retrofits for existing industrial building systems to accommodate complex manufacturing tools, executing engineering calculations, sizing, selection, and specification of components.
• Layout & Integration: Produce clear equipment layout designs and coordinate multi-discipline integration across high-density industrial or cleanroom facilities.

Project Delivery & Construction Support
• Stakeholder Alignment: Collaborate with client stakeholders and tool manufacturers to translate prototype and next-gen equipment requirements into actionable utility matrices and installation packages.
• Construction Phase Services: Provide on-site engineering support during construction, responding to RFIs, reviewing contractor submittals, and facilitating factory integration.
• Documentation: Generate accurate, compliant construction documents, technical specifications, and As-Built design packages.

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Experience Baseline: Minimum of 3+ years of practical application in mechanical facilities engineering, including HVAC, hydronics, process piping, exhaust, plumbing, and related facility infrastructure systems.
• Credentials: Certified Engineer in Training (EIT) actively pursuing a Professional Engineer (PE) License.
• Technical Mastery:
oProven capability performing engineering calculations and equipment sizing/specification for industrial or high-tech facilities.
oStrong understanding of fluid dynamics, thermal/hydronic loops, and hazardous/clean gas/chemical distribution design.
• Core Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent written and verbal communication abilities; proven capacity to collaborate effectively within multi-discipline design teams.

Preferred Attributes
• 2+ years of experience working with complex high-tech or semiconductor manufacturing tools (manufacture, utility hookup, or cleanroom installation/operation).
• Proficiency in CAD and coordination software (e.g., AutoCAD, Navisworks).
• 1+ year of hands-on field experience walking active industrial construction or manufacturing sites.

Logistics & Operational Parameters
• Work Arrangement: 100% on-site at the client facility (Monday-Friday, standard business hours with operational flexibility; relocation assistance available for qualified candidates).
• Physical Demands: Regular field walks in active construction zones; ability to walk long distances, stand/sit for extended periods, bend, stoop, crawl, climb ladders, walk catwalks, work in confined spaces, and lift/carry up to 25 lbs.
• Compliance: Must pass pre-employment background check and drug screen; authorized to work in the US without sponsorship (no visa sponsorship or continuation available for this role).
