Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain fabrication schedules and manpower forecasts
  • Partner with the Business Development team to secure new projects
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout project lifecycle

Compensation: $110K-$150K DOE
Location: Everett, WA

This is a critical leadership role responsible for managing fabrication policy, standards, and execution through effective communication, scheduling, cost tracking, and document control - ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review job estimates and assist Project Managers with preparing fabrication budgets.
  • Track, forecast, and report fabrication labor hours and material costs.
  • Maintain and control fabrication documents in compliance with company standards and contractual requirements.
  • Maintain ASME and NBIC code credentials and documentation in compliance with the Quality Control Manual.
  • Assist the Shop Superintendent with maintaining company welding records, including WPS, PRQ, WPQ's, and welder continuity logs.
  • Prepare fabrication shop work packages including detail drawing review, material take-off and buyout, and man-hour fabrication budgets.
  • Alongside the Shop Superintendent, ensure full compliance with the company Safety Program in the fabrication shop.
  • Develop and maintain the fabrication schedule and manpower forecast.
  • Partner with the Business Development team to pursue and secure new projects.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with field supervisors to plan and schedule project tasks effectively.
  • Uphold the company's Core Values in all professional interactions.
  • Collaborate with the Shop Superintendent to continuously improve the final fabricated product, shop efficiency, and shop processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the VCS Manager to improve products delivered to Fabrication, including spool drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of material.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing and Warehouse managers to ensure materials are delivered to and from the fabrication shop in a timely and efficient manner.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience as a mechanical project manager.
  • At least three years of experience managing teams, with direct supervisory responsibility over Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Project Coordinators.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience accurately estimating mechanical work.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented environment.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical systems with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • High attention to detail to minimize errors and financial risk.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Results-driven with a strong sense of accountability.
  • Proficiency in project management and collaboration software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, Bluebeam, Smartsheet, OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint, BIM360, Viewpoint Team, Vista, and OneNote.
