F-35 Strategic Initiatives Principal - Level 6 Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking an experienced and highly motivated F-35 Strategic Initiatives Principal - Level 6 to support the development, shaping, and execution of strategic initiatives that expand the operational relevance, integration, interoperability, and future growth of the F-35 enterprise. Reporting to and supporting the Director, F-35 Strategic Initiatives, this individual will serve as a senior operational and business-development subject matter expert responsible for identifying emerging warfighting requirements, developing strategic opportunities, and translating operational needs into actionable capability, business, and capture strategies. The successful candidate will bring significant tactical aviation and operational experience, combined with a strong understanding of 5th-generation fighter capabilities, weapons, threats, advanced concepts of operation, and the evolving joint and coalition operating environment. This position requires the ability to operate independently and engage effectively with senior U.S. Government, Department of Defense, military service, industry, international, and Lockheed Martin stakeholders Basic Qualifications • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; with 15 years or more of professional experience; or 13 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. • Significant U.S. military tactical aviation experience with demonstrated knowledge of fighter operations, tactics, weapons, threats, mission planning, and operational employment. • Graduate of the U.S. Air Force Weapons School, sister-service equivalent, or significant Operational Test & Evaluation experience involving tactical aviation and advanced weapons systems. • Demonstrated experience analyzing operational requirements, emerging threats, future warfighting concepts, and/or capability gaps. • Demonstrated experience with 5th-generation fighter operations, capabilities, weapons, threats, interoperability, and integration within the Joint Force. • Experience developing and communicating operational concepts, capability requirements, strategic recommendations, or business/capture strategies. • Demonstrated experience communicating complex operational and technical concepts to senior military, government, industry, and executive audiences. • Demonstrated experience establishing relationships and influencing senior stakeholders across multiple organizations. • Experience working independently and leading cross-functional efforts involving complex operational, technical, programmatic, and/or business issues. • Strong written, verbal, briefing, presentation, and executive communication experience. • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required. • Must possess an active U.S. Government security clearance at the level required for the position and be eligible to maintain applicable Special Access Program access Desired Skills • Current or previous F-35 pilot, instructor pilot, operational test pilot, or other significant F-35 operational experience. • Graduate of the U.S. Air Force Weapons School, Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One (MAWTS-1) Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course, Navy Fighter Weapons School/TOPGUN Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor Course, or equivalent advanced tactics program. • Operational Test & Evaluation experience involving fighter aircraft, advanced weapons, mission systems, sensors, electronic warfare, or integrated capabilities. • Significant experience developing fighter tactics, techniques, and procedures and evaluating emerging capabilities against operational requirements. • Experience with Joint, Combatant Command, Headquarters Air Force, OPNAV, Headquarters Marine Corps, acquisition, requirements, test, or other senior-level staff organizations. • Experience supporting or leading major exercises, operational evaluations, advanced capability demonstrations, or experimentation activities. • Knowledge of F-35 modernization, advanced weapons integration, interoperability, Collaborative Combat Aircraft, autonomy, advanced sensing, electronic warfare, command and control, and emerging mission-system capabilities. • Experience with requirements development, acquisition, capability development, strategic planning, business development, capture management, or new-business activities. • Experience supporting U.S. Government or international F-35 customer engagements. • Understanding of DoD acquisition, requirements, budgeting, modernization, and capability-development processes. • Experience with modeling and simulation, mission-level analysis, operational analysis, or campaign analysis. • Demonstrated ability to develop innovative operational concepts and translate those concepts into executable program, capability, and business strategies. • Demonstrated ability to influence senior decision-makers and build consensus across operational, engineering, programmatic, business, government, and industry organizations. • Command, operational leadership, weapons officer, test leadership, or other senior tactical aviation leadership experience. • Strong knowledge of the global fighter aircraft market, emerging threat environment, and future tactical aviation requirements. Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $158700.00 - $294700.00 The salary range for this position is as listed on the requisition.
