AAFCPAs is seeking an Experienced Tax Staff Accountant to join our Wealth Management team, where you'll work alongside experienced tax specialists and financial advisors to deliver integrated tax planning and compliance services for high-net-worth individuals and families.
This hybrid role offers exposure to sophisticated tax matters, including individual, trust, estate, and gift taxation, while providing opportunities to develop expertise in wealth transfer strategies, tax planning, and consulting. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review complex individual, fiduciary (trust and estate), gift, and estate tax returns for high-net-worth clients.
- Partner with Wealth Management advisors to deliver coordinated tax and financial planning solutions that align with clients' long-term goals.
- Research and analyze federal, state, and local tax laws to provide practical guidance and planning recommendations.
- Assist with proactive tax planning strategies involving income tax, estate planning, trusts, charitable giving, and wealth transfer.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and evaluate the impact on clients, providing timely recommendations and planning opportunities.
- Develop a thorough understanding of each client's financial situation, business interests, and family objectives to deliver personalized advice.
- Participate in tax consulting projects, including technical research, tax projections, and strategic planning initiatives.
- Complete client engagements accurately and efficiently while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
- Leverage technology and firm automation tools, including tax software, electronic workflows, and Microsoft Office applications, to improve efficiency and client service.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Tax, Wealth Management, and Advisory practices to provide an exceptional client experience.
- Pursue ongoing professional development while building technical expertise and progressing toward becoming a trusted advisor to high-net-worth clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA license or progress toward CPA certification preferred.
- Master's degree in Taxation (MST), Master of Accounting (MSA), JD, or LLM in Taxation is a plus.
- Experience preparing individual, trust, estate, or gift tax returns preferred.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly.
- Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, and experience with tax preparation software.
- A collaborative mindset with a passion for building lasting client relationships.
- Intellectual curiosity and a desire to continuously learn and grow within the high-net-worth and wealth management space.
- Flexibility with your work schedule is expected, with a commitment to working in the office approximately 2-3 days per week during our busy season to support collaboration and team needs.

The salary range for this position reflects a broad set of factors considered in compensation decisions, including-but not limited to-skills, experience, training, certifications, and overall business needs. The stated range has not been adjusted for geographic differentials that may apply based on the position's location. At AAFCPAs, it is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, as compensation decisions are based on each candidate's specific background and circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this role is
$80,000 -$90,000 per year not inclusive of bonus potential.
