Full Job Description
Cozen O'Connor's Global Insurance Department seeks an attorney with 5-8 years of significant insurance coverage analysis and coverage litigation experience to join our Chicago office. The ideal candidate will have strong Commercial General Liability (CGL) coverage experience, including analyzing and litigating complex coverage disputes and bad faith, and experience across a broad range of insurance coverage matters. Candidates should possess a solid understanding of contractual indemnity provisions, competing other insurance clauses, and insured/claimant's arguments about the existence of single versus multiple occurrences/claims. Knowledge and experience with commercial auto, motor carrier liability, commercial excess/umbrella, environmental / pollution liability, real estate / homeowners' liability, among other package business liability and management and professional errors and omissions coverage forms is strongly preferred. Candidates must have significant experience preparing written coverage analysis and coverage position letters. Substantial insurance coverage litigation experience (not defense litigation) is required, including involvement in all phases of litigation. Illinois bar admission is required, additional bar admissions also a plus. The ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running and must be a self-starter with serious hands-on experience, efficient, and capable of handling his or her own volume of cases in consultation with our team of insurance lawyers in Chicago and around the country.
The salary range for this role is $205,000-$225,000 and represents the Firm's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
