Job DescriptionExperienced Environmental Engineer / GeoscientistBring your environmental expertise to a collaborative team helping clients manage complex waste management, hydrogeology, environmental permitting, and contaminated lands challenges across Ontario.
Based in St. Catharines, you will work alongside engineers, geoscientists, and technical professionals to deliver practical solutions, build trusted client relationships, and strengthen our environmental services. You will have opportunities to lead projects, mentor developing professionals, and contribute to business growth.
Your Impact- Lead waste management and hydrogeological projects, including compliance reporting, environmental permitting, and geological and hydrogeological investigations.
- Manage projects from proposal development through delivery and close-out, including schedules, budgets, client communications, and invoicing support.
- Support contaminated lands assignments, including Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, remediation programs, risk assessments, and Records of Site Condition.
- Develop work programs, proposals, technical reports, planning documents, data interpretations, and recommendations that help clients make informed decisions.
- Coordinate subcontractors, equipment, field programs, and site-specific health and safety requirements.
- Supervise field activities such as soil logging and sampling, groundwater and surface-water sampling, stream-flow measurements, and landfill-gas monitoring.
- Build long-term client relationships while contributing to business development opportunities and service strategies.
- Mentor junior and intermediate team members, review their technical work, and support their professional development.
The Skills That Set You Apart- A bachelor's or postgraduate degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related discipline. A master's degree in an environmental field is an asset.
- Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer, P.Eng., or Professional Geoscientist, P.Geo. Strong candidates who are not currently eligible may also be considered.
- Eight to fifteen years of relevant experience in waste management, hydrogeology, aggregate resources, contaminated lands, or a related environmental field.
- Strong knowledge of applicable environmental regulations, technical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience managing projects, preparing proposals and reports, controlling schedules and budgets, and communicating directly with clients and contractors.
- Demonstrated ability to review technical data, laboratory reports, historical records, regulatory information, and reporting deliverables.
- Experience supervising, coaching, or mentoring junior professionals and field personnel.
- A strong commitment to health and safety, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the flexibility to complete fieldwork as required.
CompensationAB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $93,700 - $124,200
MB & ON: $85,500 - $117,800
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $84,700 - $112,400
