PurposeServes as a senior-level procurement and supply chain professional responsible for overseeing the expediting function for complex, high-value, and strategically critical projects. This role ensures materials, equipment, documentation, and vendor deliverables are provided in accordance with contractual requirements and project schedules. Proactively manages supplier performance, mitigates schedule risks, resolves delivery issues, and serves as a key liaison between vendors, project teams, logistics providers, and procurement personnel to support successful project execution.
ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Direction- Provide leadership and guidance on expediting best practices, supplier management, and schedule recovery strategies.
- Mentor and support junior expeditors and procurement team members, sharing knowledge and promoting continuous improvement.
- Foster strong working relationships with suppliers, project teams, logistics personnel, and internal stakeholders.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, quality, and customer service within the procurement and supply chain function.
- Serve as a subject matter resource on expediting processes, supplier performance management, and procurement execution.
At the Operational and Company Level- Develop and implement expediting strategies for complex and critical purchase orders to support project and business objectives.
- Monitor supplier performance, manufacturing progress, and key milestones to ensure adherence to contractual delivery requirements.
- Schedule and lead supplier kick-off meetings and recurring progress reviews following purchase order issuance.
- Ensure suppliers maintain production schedules and provide required documentation, reporting, and deliverables.
- Identify and mitigate risks that could impact project schedules, budgets, or operational objectives.
- Coordinate with procurement, project management, engineering, quality, logistics, and supplier representatives to resolve issues affecting delivery performance.
- Oversee transportation planning and logistics coordination to ensure timely movement of materials and equipment.
- Evaluate vendor performance and provide recommendations to improve supplier effectiveness and project outcomes.
- Ensure all schedule changes, cost impacts, and delivery risks are clearly communicated to project stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement, supplier management, and supply chain performance.
Do the Work- Proactively communicate with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods, equipment, and services.
- Track manufacturing activities, production progress, inspections, testing requirements, and shipping schedules.
- Expedite vendor-related production activities and take corrective action when milestones are at risk.
- Resolve issues involving delayed deliveries, quality concerns, quantity discrepancies, shipping problems, and contractual noncompliance.
- Monitor supplier documentation requirements and ensure all required submittals are received and approved in accordance with project schedules.
- Prepare and distribute status reports detailing supplier performance, schedule updates, risks, and corrective action plans.
- Inform project teams of potential impacts to schedule, cost, quality, or project execution and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Perform supplier site visits, audits, and progress assessments as required.
- Oversee purchase order closeout activities, ensuring all deliverables, documentation, and contractual obligations have been satisfied.
- Maintain accurate procurement and expediting records within company systems and project documentation requirements.

Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field strongly preferred.
- Eight or more (8+) years of progressively responsible procurement, supply chain, expediting, or project support experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing expediting activities for complex, high-value procurement packages and critical project schedules.
- Experience working within Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) environments strongly preferred.
- Prior experience supporting energy, industrial, infrastructure, oil and gas, utility, or large-scale construction projects preferred.
- Experience coordinating with suppliers, manufacturers, logistics providers, and project teams throughout the procurement lifecycle.
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or similar certification preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of procurement, supply chain, and expediting processes.
- Strong understanding of supplier manufacturing processes, logistics operations, and transportation planning.
- Proficiency with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, procurement software, and project management tools.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to interpret contracts, purchase orders, specifications, and project schedules.
- Knowledge of quality assurance, inspection requirements, and supplier performance management practices.
Physical Demands and Working Environment- Primarily indoor professional office environment which may include bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic.
- Mobility around an office environment.
- Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- Partially outdoor work environment which may include adverse weather conditions, varying temperatures, excessive noise, and/or potential hazards.
- Mobility around a job/construction site to include walking, bending, crawling, climbing, squatting, or kneeling and wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Primarily local travel during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required according to the needs of the business.
