Position Summary: The Executive Director of Finance is responsible for developing and executing financial organizational strategies for the Evermore brand. Will manage financial and accounting information, controlling assets, internal audits, operating budget, capital expenditure budget, critical measurements, quality control, thorough analysis reporting, strategic thinking, and establishing critical measurements that will drive revenue and achieve financial strategic goals. Will report directly to the Managing Director of the resort, providing financial insights and updates regularly, and partner with the Dart ownership CFO to ensure the program is designed to meet strategic objectives and operational requirements and is positioned for successful adoption across the resort.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the development of financial objectives in line with the resort's strategic goals.
- Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans in partnership with the Managing Director.
- Responsible for end-to-end program governance, executive stakeholder management, and the integrated delivery of all workstreams, including ERP implementation, service delivery model transformation, process standardization, data governance, and change management.
- Serve as the executive leader for Evermore's ERP and finance transformation initiative, overseeing program governance, integrated delivery across workstreams (ERP implementation, process standardization, data governance, and change management), program budget and capex governance, and coordination with the ERP vendor, system integrator, and advisory partners.
- Assist Asset Management (ownership) as needed with financial modelling on existing assets, development opportunities, and potential acquisitions.
- Produce timely and accurate financial and analytical reports for executive, asset, operational, and financial management teams.
- Oversee the planning and execution of capital expenses for the resort. This includes making investment decisions, budgeting, and ensuring that capital projects are completed within budget and timelines.
- Plan, facilitate, review, distribute, and/or present budgeting and cash forecasting activities and reports.
- Guide department leaders in business strategy, budgeting, and forecasting. Establish and manage procedures to work collaboratively with the department managers to ensure that their financial reports accurately reflect the operational activities and that variances from budgets are appropriately captured, investigated, and reported.
- Assist in the development, documentation, implementation, and compliance aspects of an effective internal controls system, including written policies, standard operating procedures, and forms.
- Assist in cash management and treasury activities, including banking, funding, debt, and intercompany transfers.
- Coordinate the maintenance and support of IT systems, applications, access, and controls with responsible parties to ensure efficient, secure, and productive use of resources and equipment.
- Establish procedures for effectively managing intercompany transactions and allocations.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, along with full working papers for the consolidated group of companies in accordance with US GAAP.
- Oversee and support the Resort Director of Accounting in managing the accounting operations.
- Oversee CAM: Will handle the Common Area Maintenance (CAM) responsibilities for both Hyatt and Hilton, Conrad, ensuring that their financial requirements and obligations are met in accordance with their respective contracts.
- Will ensure Evermore is adequately covered by insurance and that contractual obligations are fulfilled.
- Property Taxes: Will possess in-depth knowledge of property taxes and play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the resort's tax liabilities while complying with applicable tax regulations.
- Golf Course Management: Will manage finances for Grand Cypress golf in coordination with the Director of Golf Operations.
- Oversee and support the Resort Director of Accounting in managing the accounting operations.
- Provide accurate accounting processes with financial integrity based on federal, local, and state laws.
- Lead and support Evermore's accounting team, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and professional development of the staff.
- Evermore financial information will be consolidated within a larger group of Dart companies so coordination with other Dart accounting and tax teams will be required.
- Ensure compliance with all tax, regulatory, and contractual obligations as required.
- Ensure that all accounting processes - including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, cash management, capitalization, general ledger, and tax - are appropriately completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Auditing: Will audit the resort's financial records for accuracy and compliance, and subject to periodic operations audits to maintain financial integrity and transparency.
- Collaborate with Hilton, corporate, and Conrad leadership team to ensure the financial direction aligns with Evermore's operation strategy, execution, and goal setting.
- Be a visible leader to all operations teams, attend events, and interact with guests and team members.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers.
- Must be willing to work some weekends and evenings, with occasional travel expected.
- Stay up to date on the hospitality industry in the resort/vacation rental space for benchmarking and new ideas, and be active in key industry organizations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Skills, and Experience- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, preferably with a master's degree or an MBA.
- 10+ years of resort/hospitality finance experience in a high-volume resort with a preference for luxury, independents, similar vacation homes, and golf resorts.
- Expertise in managing property taxes and capital expenses for large properties.
- Strong financial acumen and the ability to analyze and interpret financial data, create budgets, and make strategic financial decisions.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are crucial for presenting financial information to stakeholders and interacting with team members, management, and ownership.
- Excellent leadership and management skills to effectively oversee the accounting team and collaborate with other departments.
- Capacity to think critically and problem-solve, especially when dealing with complex financial matters.
- Proficiency in contract negotiations and vendor management.
- A keen eye for detail is essential for accurate financial reporting and compliance.
- The ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with financial software, accounting systems, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation and expertise in accounting and financial management.
