Full Job Description
Job Summary:

This position reports to the Assistant Vice President for Facilities and Planning supporting the academic campus and research needs as well as the hospital clinical needs. The Executive Director will provide leadership, coordination and administrative oversight to the design, construction and facilities engineering departments for major capital projects, interior renovations, and special projects as assigned. This position is responsible for ensuring that the planning, design, and construction of capital projects are completed accurately, effectively, and in accordance with the requirements of the Hospital, College, and other regulatory agencies. This role will ensure collaboration with other facilities departments for long term, short term, and operational needs. This role will work in coordination with Hospital and University Leadership, Physical Plant, Environmental Health and Safety, Facilities Technology and Planning, and other stakeholders to renovate, maintain, improve, and add to the UMU built environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a closely related field and NYS professional licensure as a Architect or Engineer is required. A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in the design and construction of capital projects within an operating facility and thorough knowledge of current New York State building codes is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Master's degree is preferred. Experience in hospital regulatory and accreditation requirements is preferred.
