Department: Development Salary: Commensurate with Experience/Education
Description:

Directs and oversees a central major gifts program and a team of central development officers.

1. Creates and implements a strategic operating plan for the major gifts program for the UH Office of Development.
2. Identifies prospects, facilitates and coordinates cultivation and solicitation strategies, and delivers effective stewardship for central assignments.
3. Identifies and conducts exploratory visits with potential major gift donors.
4. Manages special fundraising projects as assigned.
5. Serves as a resource for the university regarding successful major giving activities, techniques and methods.
6. Recruits and manages a volunteer leadership structure to assist with major gift solicitation and overall development strategies and direction.
7. Administers the department's budget and personnel.
8. Performs other job-related duties as required.

MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4-year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.

Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of directly job-related experience.
