Pacific Shipyards International (PSI) is searching for an experienced Execution Superintendent to join our ship repair team in Hawaii.

Position Title: Execution Superintendent
Reports To: Vice President of Production & Production Manager
Location: Honolulu, Hawaii

Position Summary
The Execution Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day execution, coordination, and oversight of ship repair, maintenance, modernization, and alteration projects to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards, technical specifications, and customer requirements. As a key member of the Project Team, this position works closely with Project Managers, Department Managers, Planning, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Safety, Materials, subcontractors, and customer representatives to drive successful project execution.

The Execution Superintendent provides leadership and coordination across multiple production disciplines, including Structural, Pipe, Mechanical, Electrical, Preservation/Coatings, and Labor. This role is responsible for monitoring production progress, managing resources, resolving execution challenges, and implementing corrective actions to maintain schedule performance and productivity. Serving as a critical link between project planning and field execution, the Execution Superintendent promotes a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement while ensuring effective coordination among production teams, subcontractors, and customers throughout all phases of ship repair.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage, plan, and coordinate ship repair work items as part of the Project Team.
• Lead and coordinate production activities across all assigned departments to ensure safe, efficient, and timely project execution.
• Ensure departmental work is executed in accordance with project schedules, budgets, quality standards, technical specifications, and customer requirements.
• Coordinate and collaborate with Production, Planning, Project Management, Quality Assurance, Safety, Engineering, Materials, Operations, subcontractors, OEM technical representatives, and customers throughout all phases of repair.
• Facilitate communication and coordination between multiple trades including Structural, Pipe, Mechanical, Electrical, Preservation/Coatings, and Labor departments.
• Monitor project progress and identify risks, bottlenecks, resource constraints, and schedule impacts; develop and implement recovery plans as necessary.
• Drive accountability for departmental performance, productivity, workmanship quality, and milestone completion.
• Support workforce planning and resource allocation to meet project demands while maximizing labor efficiency.
• Allocate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor resources to support project objectives.
• Track productivity, manpower utilization, and resource requirements; communicate shortages or constraints to project leadership.
• Participate in production meetings and provide leadership with accurate status updates, forecasts, and recommendations.
• Act as a primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, subcontractors, suppliers, and customers regarding production-related activities.
• Ensure compliance with NAVSEA requirements, company procedures, safety regulations, environmental requirements, and customer expectations.
• Promote and maintain a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the shipyard.
• Enforce strict adherence to safety policies and procedures; participate in safety meetings, inspections, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
• Monitor quality of workmanship and verify adherence to technical specifications, drawings, standards, and repair requirements.
• Conduct inspections and address defects, non-conformances, delays, and deviations in a timely manner.
• Maintain daily production logs, progress reports, work status updates, and project records.
• Document incidents, delays, scope changes, and production challenges, ensuring accurate reporting and recordkeeping.
• Assist with project closeout activities including punch list completion, final inspections, turnover documentation, and customer acceptance.
• Be capable of reading, interpreting, and understanding ship repair specifications, technical drawings, schematics, and work packages.
• Assist with labor cost estimating, work planning, and project execution strategies.
• Be comfortable working in a dynamic industrial and maritime environment.
• Demonstrate strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and team-building skills while fostering collaboration across all departments.

Education/Training/Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Maritime Studies, Business Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant ship repair experience may be considered.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or other relevant industry certifications preferred.
• Previous experience and/or formal training in production planning, work sequencing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Strong understanding of ship repair operations, shipyard production processes, and maritime industry best practices.
• Working knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Items, ship repair specifications, military vessel repair requirements, and government contracting processes preferred.
• Knowledge of shipboard Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and other applicable safety requirements.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, specifications, schematics, engineering documents, and work packages.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and other project planning and production management software.
• Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and all levels of management.
• Ability to coordinate multiple trades and departments while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced shipyard environment.

Qualification/Requirements:

• Must show proof of legal right to work in the United States and US Citizenship due to security clearance required for base access.
• Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
• Must be able to obtain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential to gain access to federally controlled work sites
• All candidates must submit to and pass a post-offer drug screening and background check before employment begins.
• Valid State of Hawaii REAL ID-Compliant Drivers' License in good standing or a valid U.S. Passport in addition to a valid Hawaii Driver's License, if you do not have a REAL ID-Compliant Driver's License, class 3 or higher
• Candidates must have access to reliable transportation to get to work and other job sites on time for the start of shift
• Must be flexible in work hours

Pay Range: $84,000-$105,000 annual salary to commensurate with experience.
