Job Description:

The Estimator II position Provides estimating management and support during the preconstruction process. This position focuses on the creation and analysis of detailed cost information.

Some things you can expect to do:
  • Work with preconstruction managers, project managers, and other estimators to develop accurate and timely conceptual and detailed estimates.
  • Perform quantity take-offs of all construction systems.
  • Solicit subcontractor pricing for budgeting and bidding events.
  • Scope, select and recommend subcontractors based on best value and project requirements.
  • Create and monitor project estimate updates with the evolution and refinement of project scope.
  • Champion data integrity through consistent archiving of estimates and tracking historic costs.
  • Support the development, architecture, and construction teams with preconstruction expertise including cost validation, value design, preconstruction project schedule input, procurement lead times, and project pursuit assistance.
  • Support, review, and provide feedback on project estimates created by the project managers and other estimators.
  • Assist and mentor new estimators, project managers, and preconstruction engineers.
  • Assist clients and developers with conceptual budgets, capable of cost modeling using Uniformat II system costs.

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of DESTINI Estimator, Microsoft Excel, OST, JOIN, BuildingConnected and Bluebeam.
  • Communicate proactively and effectively, and focus on customer needs, expectations, and satisfaction.
  • Display a high level of professionalism, honesty, and integrity.
  • Have experience with commercial industrial and/or sitework estimating.
  • 4 year engineering, architectural or management degree required, or experience in relevant field.
  • 6+ years commercial construction experience.
  • Knowledge of construction means and methods and able to read and understand project plans.
  • Proficiency with CSI and Uniformat II work breakdown structures.
  • Be able to perform thoughtful and accurate quantity take offs and summarize data in a meaningful way.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Excel. Working knowledge of OST, Bluebeam, VICO, Navisworks, and Revit a plus.
  • Knowledge of design-build, CM at Risk, and best-value processes.
  • Able to teach skills and knowledge to others.
  • Knowledge of construction means and methods, building types, and procurement methods.
  • Able to listen, prioritize, and value the opinions of others.


Compensation:

The salary range is $101,900 - 127,400.00 per year. The annual base salary may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills and abilities.
