Job Summary The Estimator I develops assigned estimate components and scopes under defined direction while learning Loenbro estimating standards, systems, and cost-development methods. This role performs quantity takeoffs, compiles pricing, organizes quotations, identifies scope concerns, and maintains complete estimate documentation. Project value is a planning guide rather than a classification gate; assignment complexity, risk, scope definition, and required independence govern the work assigned.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Perform quantity takeoffs and develop assigned scope in accordance with bid documents and work breakdown requirements.
Compile labor, material, equipment, subcontract, and indirect-cost inputs using approved sources and methods.
Solicit and organize vendor and subcontractor quotations; document coverage, qualifications, and missing information.
Identify scope gaps, design discrepancies, commercial concerns, and project risks for senior review.
Maintain estimate files, assumptions, clarifications, exclusions, and supporting documentation.
Meet assigned deadlines and participate in estimate reviews, site visits, pre-bid meetings, and turnover activities.
Use approved estimating, takeoff, CRM, and document-management systems accurately.

Process piping
Process engineering and related industrial systems

Ability to perform accurate quantity takeoffs and develop estimates for self-performed scopes.
Ability to communicate clearly, organize information, collaborate with project teams, and meet deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn required estimating, takeoff, CRM, and document-management systems.
Ability to travel periodically to offices, client locations, and project sites.
Valid driver's license and insurability when driving is required.
Preferred:
Associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience with Accubid, HeavyBid, Salesforce, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or comparable systems.
Potential Hazards:
Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures
Exposure to manufacturing, pipeline, and refining environment
Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors

Physical Demands and Work Environment
Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms, including scaffolding at significant heights
Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1-50 pounds, 50% of the time on a monthly basis for required tasks
Potential or periodic requirements may include the following:
Walking on uneven terrain, with an average of 2 miles per day
Standing
Sitting, stooping, crawling, and kneeling
Use of respirator if position requires
Driving if required to travel
