Graham is actively recruiting for an Electrical & Instrumentation Estimator supporting the Services Division. Reporting to the Director of Estimating, the incumbent plays a key role in the success of the Services Division by leveraging technical expertise to interpret project scope, develop accurate quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and manage bid deadlines.

Incumbents may be responsible for cross-discipline application or may concentrate in one or more of the estimating disciplines including Electrical, Instrumentation, Controls, and or Transmission & Distribution.

The role requires the ability to interpret tender and contract documents, collaborate effectively with internal teams, and communicate clearly with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and Graham industry partners.

This role is based in our Edmonton Office

Your Role in Building What Matters - From Office to Site

  • Prepare comprehensive and accurate electrical and instrumentation cost estimates: for projects, including equipment, cabling, heat tracing, systems, instrumentation and related scopes across heavy industrial sectors such as oil & gas, mining, manufacturing, petrochemical, agricultural, forestry, and energy

  • Determine project scope and complete detailed estimate quantification and costing: including labour, equipment, materials, subcontractor scopes, and productivities, using company-standard estimating programs and historical data

  • Analyze tender documents, drawings, and specifications: to assess constructability, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend cost-effective solutions based on qualities, material availability, and market conditions

  • Develop estimating strategies and support competitive bids: including assembling conceptual and budget estimates, analyzing subcontractor bids, proposing innovations, and participating in tender closings with senior estimator oversight

  • Support project planning and financial analysis: including the support in preparing preliminary construction schedules, assisting with project budgeting, change management, cash flow considerations, and providing accurate assessments of risk and scope

  • Collaborate, mentor, and communicate effectively: with internal teams, trade partners, consultants, and suppliers, while building relationships that align with Graham's core values


The Right Tools for the Job

  • Education: Diploma or degree in a related post-secondary program or construction trade equivalent related experience.

  • Technical Skills: 1-5 years construction-related or supply chain experience and strong ability to interpret tender documents, specifications, drawings, and contractual requirements.

  • Software: Proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel. Experience with InEight, Cleopatra, Trimble, McCormick, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Navisworks, BIM Modeling, Primavera, MS Teams, Power BI is an asset.
