You are an experienced field professional with a strong understanding of natural gas compression systems and what it takes to execute a project successfully in the field. You know how to look beyond the plans and recognize what is needed on site, from equipment and site layout to tubing, conduit, panels, and other installations requirements. You bring technical knowledge and field awareness to identify gaps, anticipate challenges, and communicate what is needed to keep a project moving.
In this role, you will serve as a key connection between our customers and Cooper's project management team. You will represent Cooper on site, build strong customer relationships, communicate project requirements and progress, and confidently navigate technical knowledge, attention to detail, and strong people skills will make you an essential part of delivering successful projects for our customers.
WHAT YOU WILL DO- Coordinate and oversee on-site project execution, working closely with Cooper's Project Managers, customers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and within scope.
- Serve as the primary field liaison between the customer and Cooper's project team, providing clear communication on execution plans, project status, site requirements, schedule impacts, and changes in scope.
- Conduct and support pre-construction site visits, evaluating site layouts and identifying requirements for equipment, panels, conduit, tubing, wiring, facilities, and other installation needs.
- Apply knowledge of natural gas compression systems and both slow-speed and high-speed equipment to identify field requirements, recognize potential gaps in project proposals, and communicate needed changes to Project Management.
- Review project documentation, drawings, proposals, and site conditions to identify discrepancies or missed requirements, coordinating with subcontractors and internal stakeholders to resolve issues before they affect project execution.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, project updates, site observations, schedule information, scope changes, red-line drawings, and other documentation required for project management and customer communication.
- Coordinate project handover from construction to commissioning by communicating site conditions, customer contacts, safety information, reporting requirements, scope changes, drawings, and other critical project details to the commissioning team.
WHO YOU ARE- You bring substantial field experience in natural gas compression, with a working understanding of both slow-speed and high-speed compression equipment and OEM and non-OEM systems.
- You understand how equipment, piping, tubing, conduit, panels, and related systems come together in a field environment and can evaluate site layouts to identify installation requirements.
- You can read and interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, construction drawings, and electrical drawings and use that information to support field execution.
- You have strong customer-facing communication skills and can represent Cooper professionally, including when working with customers who are frustrated, under pressure, or facing project challenges.
- You are highly observant and detail-oriented, with the ability to recognize when project requirements have been missed or conditions in the field differ from the original proposal.
- You communicate effectively with Project Managers, contractors, customers, engineers, sales, sourcing, and operations to keep projects moving and issues addressed.
- You are proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and can create clear, professional project reports and documentation.
PREFERRED- 5+ years of experience as a Project Coordinator or in a comparable field project coordination, construction supervision, or project execution role.
- Experience with pipeline compressors, reciprocating engines, natural gas compression, or related industrial equipment.
- Experience with mainline gas transmission, power generation, or medium-voltage generation equipment.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley RSLogix 5000 and related control systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Project and/or SAP.
