GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

This professional and technical position provides support for enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and is also responsible for creating, maintaining, and supporting software applications, integrations, and analytical reports. This role combines business analysis, technical delivery, and production support to ensure reliable and effective enterprise-ERP solutions.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THIS CLASS
The ERP Analyst serves as a business requirements analyst, software developer, and application support resource. The role also includes task leadership responsibilities and coordination of resources across teams to complete assignments and utilizes AI tools when permitted to optimize the creation and delivery of enterprise solutions effectively and efficiently. This position reports to the Enterprise Applications Manager within the Information Technology Department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEssential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Provide configuration, integration, troubleshooting, and end user support for financial ERP modules.
• Analyze departmental business processes and translate requirements into detailed specifications for purchased or internally developed applications.
• Develop, support, modernize, test, deploy, optimize interfaces and integration across enterprise applications using various software and scripting languages using industry best practices.
• Recommend and implement improvements for assigned applications.
• Develop and maintain high-quality documentation that assists IT staff and end users with ERP and non-ERP applications, business processes, requirement designs, support procedures, and knowledge transfer,
• Develop test plans, scripts and datasets for units, integration, system, and user acceptance testing.
• Manage or conduct ERP and other enterprise applications testing efforts.
• Update applications to implement enhancements, defect fixes, and improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to resolve problems and deliver solutions
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and IT staff to provide responsive, high-quality support services.
• Design and develop complex business reports and data extracts based on detailed requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

RECRUITMENT STANDARDS
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• ERP Systems
  • Knowledge and experience supporting modules such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Contracts, Purchasing, or Cash Management.
  • Knowledge and experience planning, managing, executing, or participating in system upgrades.
  • Knowledge and experience working with departmental leadership, end users, and vendors to identify and resolve problems with ERP systems and update these systems as needed.
  • Knowledge and experience integrating ERP systems with other applications.
  • Knowledge and experience with workflow configuration, user administration, and role-based access control preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with Tyler EERP (Munis) or similar public-sector implemented ERP systems preferred.
  • Open to learning other ERP modules like HR, Budget, EPL etc.
• Programming Skills Utilizing AI Tools like Github Co-Pilot
  • Working knowledge of .NET, C#, VB.NET, Postman, Power Automate, and utilization of RESTful APIs.
  • Knowledge and experience with units, integration, system, and user acceptance testing of batch and online applications.
  • Knowledge and skills working with Microsoft SQL Server SSIS development and administration for Extraction Transformation and Loading and interface file creation tasks.
  • Knowledge of database security and basic administrative functions.
  • Knowledge of Visual Studio, and GitHub repositories.
  • Skills with Microsoft SQL Server and Transact SQL.
  • Skills in SSRS and Power BI report/dashboard development preferred.
  • Ability to develop stored procedures, complex queries, and optimized SQL solutions.
  • Ability to lead tasks supporting small to medium non-ERP applications, including implementations of newly purchased systems.

• Knowledge of change management and service desk procedures.
• Working knowledge of project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to demonstrate strong attention to detail in analysis, testing, documentation and production support.
• Ability to demonstrate initiative and curiosity to learn new skills independently, adapt quickly to changing priorities, and remain open to new ERP platforms and tools.
• Ability to apply critical thinking and structured problem solving to diagnose root causes and recommend practical and sustainable solutions.

Typical Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Four-year degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field with at least 3 years of experience performing the functions of systems analyst and at least 4 years of experience as a programmer.

OR a two-year degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field with at least 5 years of experience performing the functions of systems analyst and at least 6 years of experience as a programmer:

OR High School diploma or GED with at least 7 years of experience performing the functions of systems analyst and at least 8 years of experience as a programmer.

Working Conditions
Work is typically performed in an office environment, although work is frequently performed at remote locations where computers and peripheral equipment is located.

Physical Demands and Mental Demands
Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to perform medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects such as computers, monitors, printers, and related equipment. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures, perform extensive reading, and operate personal computers or computer peripherals.

May Require Driving
This position may require driving for this position whether driving a County owned or personal vehicle to conduct county business such as but not limited to attending conferences, meetings, or any other county related functions. Motor Vehicle Reports may be verified for valid driver's license and that the driving record is compatible with the county's driving criteria.
If a personal vehicle is operated for county business proper insurance is maintained as per Guilford County's vehicle use policy.
