About this roleWe are looking for an
Environmental Planning Engineer with 2-5 years of experience to join Blumen's regulatory and environmental team and help build the AI-native future of environmental planning for American infrastructure. You'll sit at the intersection of subject matter expertise and product, QA-ing deliverables for real energy and infrastructure projects, researching regulatory and permitting questions, and feeding your learnings back into Blumen's platform to make the underlying system smarter. This is a hands-on production role at a fast-moving, venture-backed startup - ideal for an ambitious environmental professional who wants to move beyond the traditional consulting path and help define a function that has never existed before.
What will you be doing?- QA and review project deliverables - ensuring environmental analyses, permit assessments, and critical issues screens are accurate, well-cited, and high quality before they reach customers.
- Research unresolved environmental and permitting questions using authoritative regulatory, agency, and planning sources across local, state, and federal jurisdictions.
- Review AI-generated findings closely, correcting unsupported, incomplete, or misleading conclusions.
- Contribute subject matter expertise back into Blumen's regulatory database and product logic - writing prompts, updating rules, and scoping improvements for the engineering team.
- Evaluate real energy and infrastructure sites for environmental, land-use, and permitting risks as part of due diligence and development packages for customers.
