Overview

Kimley-Horn's Fort Worth office is seeking a Environmental Planner to join our Power Delivery team! 

Responsibilities
  • Prepare Environmental Quality Act documents, environmental impact reports, and negative and mitigated negative declarations
  • Secures permits, ensures compliance and manages ecological risks for transmission lines and substations.
  • Conducts route analysis for new transmission lines and selecting sites for substations to minimize environmental impact.
  • Perform a variety of tasks, supporting various project managers and collaborating with team members.
  • Environmental clearance associated with local comprehensive plans/local land use planning
  • Develops EMPs (Environmental Management Plans) to manage land disruption, noise, erosion, and vegetation management during construction.
Qualifications
  • Degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Environmentlal Planning (or other degree applicable to the planning field)
  • 10+ years of experience conducting environmental studies for local agencies and private entities
  • Experience with a wide range of tasks related to environmental planning
  • Understanding of the agencies involved with the Environmental Quality Act process as well as the state's Land Planning Law
  • Experience with NEPA compliance is a plus
  • Strong writing/verbal skills
  • Working knowledge of GIS/ArcView
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude and a strong work ethic
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
  • Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
