Job Description:

Environmental Manager - Mid-Atlantic Region

The Environmental Manager supports the Senior Environmental Director and operates both independently and collaboratively to deliver environmental services across Kokosing companies. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable environmental regulations, promoting safe work practices, supporting industrial hygiene initiatives, and contributing to the development and growth of the company's sustainability program.

Key Responsibilities

Environmental Compliance
  • Develop, implement, and conduct environmental inspections, including but not limited to:
    • Industrial Stormwater programs and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWP3)
    • Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans, including site inspections and audits
    • State Emergency Response Commission (SERC) reporting and compliance audits
    • Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) hazardous materials and universal waste management
    • Environmental permit compliance evaluations
  • Provide guidance, direction, and coaching to project teams regarding environmental requirements and best practices
  • Prepare and submit environmental compliance reports to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders
  • Conduct environmental audits, analyses, and performance reporting for both internal and external clients
  • Support or provide direction for field sampling, laboratory analysis, emissions testing, and environmental observations
  • Deliver environmental training programs to enhance workforce knowledge and program effectiveness
  • Stay current on regulatory changes and industry practices by attending conferences, seminars, and professional development opportunities
  • Maintain flexibility to work non-standard hours, including weekends, and travel as needed


Safety
  • Support and reinforce company safety policies and procedures in conjunction with environmental responsibilities
  • Identify safety hazards associated with environmental activities and the implementation of Best Management Practices (BMPs)
  • Promote safe behaviors and address at-risk actions observed in the field


Sustainability
  • Assist in the development and implementation of sustainability strategies and initiatives across the organization
  • Serve as an internal resource on emerging sustainability trends, frameworks, and industry benchmarks within the construction sector


Industrial Hygiene
  • Apply knowledge of industrial hygiene principles, practices, and procedures
  • Recognize when environmental conditions require additional industrial hygiene or safety controls
  • Provide jobsite support related to environmental monitoring and industrial hygiene assessments
