We are currently seeking an Environmental Manager to support our DOE National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) in Morgantown WV or Pittsburgh, PA.

Job Description

(Duties & Responsibilities)

This will involve working closely with federal and contract; researchers, site technicians, engineers, and other ES&H professionals.  The candidate must be energetic with good interpersonal and team-building skills and be able to function independently with moderate supervision.

Manage the Environmental Task at Albany, Oregon; Morgantown, WV; and Pittsburgh, PA. The Environmental Programs include: Air Quality, Water Quality, Chemical Management, and Non-Hazardous Waste, which include the management of environmental permits and plans, sampling, and inspections. Review and generate about 125 deliverables including regulatory submittals annually.

Management of the Albany Groundwater Program at Albany, Oregon

Review and generate about 20 deliverables including groundwater reports, conceptual site model updates, and fate and transport modeling.

Coordinate Albany Groundwater Meetings monthly and generate minutes. Manage employees by providing direction on technical duties, Amentum and DOE policies, and training.  Hold weekly staff meetings and generate minutes. Manage the budgets of employees, subcontracts, materials/equipment, and training.  Review and approve invoices. Generate monthly, weekly, and other status reports. Generate and submit Biweekly Regulatory Highlights. Coordinate bi-weekly Chemical Inventory Meetings. Support the generation of the NETL Annual Site Environmental Report. Knowledge of EPA and state environmental regulations, standards, and guidance. Review Directives, Policies, Procedures, Manuals, Operating Plans, etc. for accuracy and comment as necessary.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Required Qualifications

US Citizen

Bachelor’s degree in the Environmental Field or related field; 15 years of job-related experience. Must be familiar with current regulations and requirements. Must have previous supervisory/management experience. Excellent analytical and communication skills; Must have a valid driver's license

Other requirements

Master’s degree preferred

Professional Engineering License preferred.

Compensation Details:

$130,000-$150,000
